Eric saw his probation officer today and
there is good news and bad news. They
still haven't charged him with felon
possession of arms. So next week when he
sees his probation officer again, they are
going to call again, and if they still
haven't charged him, then they probably
won't charge him at all. His probation
officer said today that they probably
won't seeing how it has taken them so
long. That's the good news. The bad
news is that he will have to be charged
with violation of probation. So he will
have to stand in front of the judge, and
who knows what he could get. Eric said
they could decdide to charge him
themselves for felon possession of arms,
but most likely that won't happen only
because eric's felony has nothing to do
with shooting guns. I know that when he
got charged with violation of probation
before, he only had to serve a 3 day
detainer and that was it. So hopefully it
would only be three days. But if it is
for more, he could also get work release,
which means he could still help me with
the bills and he wouldn't loose his job.
So I guess the news today was better than
I expected. I will let you know what
happens next week!

I dont think it matters what the person is
on probation for, they can't commit
anything without consquence. My fiance's
bro was on probation for numerous reckless
drivings and possession, he was disturbing
the peace and was jailed

Of course it doesnt matter. But if
someone had a felon record with lets
say...Armed robbery, then got caught
shooting a gun, they would soooo be sent
right to prison. On the other hand, if
someone had a felon record of writing fake
checks, and got caught shooting a gun, the
consequences would not be as bad. That is
the case with erics situation. He
probably wont get a bad sentance only
because his felony had nothing to do with
firearms.
