I never wanted to post a question like
this but unfortunately I have
to. At about 4am on dec. 19th I did just
about the stupidest thing
ever and had drunk, unprotected sex with
my best friend's roommate.
Now, not that it matters, but there was no
ejaculation involved. We
thought it would be best to stop because
his roommate/my friend. I
know there is a possibilty of getting
pregnant from pre-ejaculate,
but are the chances slimmer?
The next afternoon (dec. 20th) I went to
planned parenthood and got
myself emergency contraceptive (the
morning after pill). The nurse
said I might experience nausea and even
spotting. Starting last
night (dec. 24th) I was feeling a little
sick and this morning I noticed that I am
bleeding as though i'm on my period, so
i'm assuming it's because of the pills.
Why exactly does this happen and how
likely is it that i'm pregnant? Because I
am bleeding does that mean there is no
lining for a fertilized egg to implant
itself into and that I am safe?
Thanks so much for your guys' time and
happy holidays.
worried 18 yr old,

Yeah, that's the idea behind the morning
after pill.To start your period and to
leave no lining for an egg to adhere
to.Your body responded appropriately by
bleeding(the normal response to no
fertilization). You should be fine at your
next cycle.Start counting from today-not
your next expected date.As you were
probably told,you cannot take emergency
contraception on a regular basis,so please
be safer in the future.Happy
holidays!!Best to you.

The morning after pill is very effective
if taken correctly. You'd be unlucky to
get pregnant, so try not to worry.
