Q: Pregnancy After Blighted Ovum-happening Again?

Hello everyone. I had a miscarriage a little over a year ago which the doctor called a "blighted ovum". I am pregnant again (about 4 wks) and seem to feel exactly the same as last time. I don't really feel pregnant at all, no nausea or anything. The only signs are missed period and my breasts are a little tender. I had been pregnant before the miscarriage and had terrible nausea all day long plus very tender, itchy swollen breasts almost immediately. I am somewhat worried. I have also noticed that since the mc my periods have been different. (not as long or heavy, no breast tenerness beforehand, little or no cramping, a couple of them came about 2 wks early, also a funny pain on my right side where my ovary would be) I am 33. I haven't been to the doctor yet, just took a preg. Test about 1 wk ago. Could I have some hormonal issues going on?

Thanks,
favabean

Its hard to tell. The best advice that I can give you is to go see a doctor. If you cant get an appt. Then go to your nearest er. To get checked out. If you are still having pain. I have had 3 mis. And I have also carried children after so I know it is possible. I hope everything will work out okay for you. Good luck

blighted ovum again???????
I am feeling the exact same way. I had a blighted ovum in August of last year. I now have had a positive preg test and feel no real symptoms except a little tenderness and a little heartburn. If I request a blood test for hcg levels will that determine if I'm having a miscarriage again or must I get an ultrasound. I'm only about 5 weeks and I dont' think any doctor will give me an ultrasound at this point. I'm not sure. I'm trying to stay positive.

I noticed you mentioned you had a blighted ovum in August of last year and you are now pregnant again? I also had a blighted ovum just this past September and had a D&C and have been unable to conceive again so far. Do you have any advice for me on being able to become pregnant again? I am not very regular when it comes to my menstrual cycle so I guess that could be a factor. Where did you find the patience? By the way, you asked about whether your doctor would check your levels and be able to tell if you're having another m/c or not and the answer is yes. My girlfriend had the doctors check her levels right at 5 weeks and found she was miscarriaging again. It was very unfortunate for her to find out but better to know early on.

Blighted ovum, pregnant again?
Yes, I had never heard of a blighted ovum until that miscarriage. I've had two successful pregnancies previously. I didn't have a D&C. I misscarriaged naturally. My husband's advise to me was to relax (easier said than done), not think about it and have a few drinks and have fun...and that is exactly what I did and that is when I got pregnant. Now, I also took anit0xidants (acai 100 pure juice) and vitamins (prenatal, vitamin D, Calcium and Magnesium).
I also used the clearblue monitor for all my pregnancies. It pinpointed the exact time of ovulation.
I suggest you rest, relax, have some fun, maybe join a dance class or something you enjoy and get your mind off of it (I know it is just about impossible)...give it a try!
I've had my first blood test and the levels were 18000 which is normal for a pregnancy of 5 weeks but a blighted ovum could also give those levels in the first few weeks. I'm going to request another b/t and then u/s.
I wish you well and good luck!!!!
