Q: Worried About My Unusual Pregnancy Symptoms

I am 30 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Thus far I have had a pretty uneventful pregnancy with no complications. 4 days ago I had an episode of water leakage, but was unsure if my water had actually broken or if I had leaked urine. With no further leakage, I brushed the episode off as a urine mishap. Although, since that day I have had diarrhea and become increasingly weak and dehydrated. Now I am worried that my water actually did break and/or I am developing an infection. Are these normal symptoms of late pregnancy or should I contact my ob? What other symptoms can I look for in trying to detect a problem? Please help! I am getting more nervous by the minute!

I don't really now if those symptoms are normal. I suggest you go to your ob asap. Anytime you feel things are not right and your leaking anything in late pregnancy it is better to be safe then sorry. Goodluck hun.

I would call your ob or go to the hospital right away. Even if it is urine its better to be safe then sorry. When I was 29 weeks with my first child I had a membrane leak and I had to be hospitalized that way infection didnt occour. It felt like a gush of liquid. It felt to weird to be urine so I went to the dr that afternoon and he just simply got a certain kind of swab they had and ran it along my underwear and if the tip turned green (which it did) then it was amniotic fluid. I don't know if because this happen a copule of days ago that you would still be leaking or not. I would def get in touch with some medical help rather quickly though. I thought I had a second leak at 34 weeks because they told me that the amnotic fluid smells like bleach and I could have swore I smelt it. They were really understanding and they did a swab and even a stress test but it was just a bladder infection and it was in fact urine. But like I said. I wouldn't wait any longer specially if infection has already startded. Hope this helps.

Thank You
Thanks for your help. With odd symptoms increasing instead of decreasing like I hoped, I will call my ob first thing in the morning. I just feel funny and i'd rather be safe than sorry. Thanks for your support and giving me that extra kick to get up and call my doctor! I'll let you know.
