I'm kind of worried. My friends think I
have problems.. Or so they tell me. I'm
actually beginning to believe them. I
have weird mood swings. All day i'm
hyperactive and can't concentrate in
class, and then afterwards i'm so tired
and I just feel.. Unhappy and sad. My
parents fight a lot and I get really
frustrated and scratch my wrists.. Just
with my nails and i'm afraid that sometime
I might do something to myself. I don't
know what to do and I can't talk to
anybody about it without getting upset...

Basically, its good to know that you're
not alone. Your friends and family are
always there for you when you need them.
Your friends probably understand better
then your parents, since you can express
to them who you really are without getting
lectured, etc..
First try your closest friends. The ones
that you trust and always talk to with
your problems. Don't dump it on them..
Stay open for advice. They know you
well.
If that doesn't work, then try your
parents. You can always get a therapist
to talk to..
Hope I helped, if only a little, if any at
all...

The thing is, my friends don't even know
about my mood swings because they just see
me at school. I never really hang out
with them outside of school, just bury
myself in homework. To tell you the
truth, I don't have a really close friend.
I've switched schools so much that i've
lost touch with my best friend. Even
though we still see eachother from time to
time, it's not the same.
I do have one person in mind, but I don't
know if I have a way to tell her without
making it seem that I just wanted
attention. But thank you for the help,
it was nice just to talk to somebody.
I don't even know if I actually have a
true problem, or this is just who I am.
Because it's never really bad unless my
parents have faught or i've faught with
somebody. I'm not good at bringing these
things up with my doctor, but if it really
gets bad I could. She's literally the
nicest person i've ever met.

hi dear,
i can tell you are being affected by the
atmospher of the place that you are
living. You are going through a hard time
with your family. I think the best thing
to do is talking to your parents and tell
them how do you feel about them and their
fights all the time. I am sure that they
will listen and try to decrease the
tension at home as much as possible to
make life and enviroment easier for you.
If they don't, the best way to do is
getting help from professional social
workers, since if you continue like this,
you will drastically put yourself in
danger which might not be pleasant for you
and your future . It has just started of
being hiperactive, later you will feel
depression and many many other problems
which will be so difficult for you to
handle. Dear, if a person goes through a
depressioh era, might do many dangerous
things which could hurt his/her well
being. Please talk to your parents and
make everything clear for them, give them
time, in order to change their opinions
and attitude toward eachother, in order to
have a better and healthier atmosphere for
you to live with them, if doesn't work,
please go and get help from social workers
who are professional people and can find a
better solution. Friends are very good
whenever you want to talk them, but they
are not professional and don't know how to
solve it. Keep us posted in the forum, to
know how you are doing. Don't worry, you
are healthy and god will help you.

If you feel as though you cannot talk to
your parents or a social worker, try
talking to your counselor @ school or the
school nurse, you do need to talk about
this to someone that is able to help you
as the person said above, this can get
worse for you and it is not worth making
making yourself sick, things are always
better out in the open, much better than
holding this in.
The very best to you!

Well, I can almost guarentee talking to my
parents will not work because I have tried
it in the past. They think them fighting
doesn't affect me because I supposedly
would step over my mother even if she
dropped dead. Another problem is, my mom
is a professional social worker and she'd
find out if I went because she works at
the only office in town and I can't get
downtown by myself. I don't really trust
any teachers at my school, because I just
moved to it and we don't have a school
nurse or even a guidance counsoller. I'm
leaving the school next year for
highschool, so i'll be introduced to new
people that I may come to trust and also a
guidance counsoller that I could build up
the guts to speak to. My options are
very limitted, but I do have one friend
online that I speak to about this a lot
and he helps (he's my friends cousin who
lives in bc, so he's not a complete
stranger). But thank you for your
help.
Meg.

hello meg,
you shouldn't give up even if you cannot
talk to your parents. Get help from a
nurse or your family doctor. You have to
talk to someone as soon as possible.
Waiting till next year comes by, will be
too late to change something that might
happen to you god forbidden. You are
suffering and you need to burst all the
fears and problems out of your heart/mind
and soul. Where do you live by the way?
Meg, life is so beautiful and a person at
your age should take the best out of it,
not sit and grief. If you cannot talk to
anyone, at least participate in a healthy
activity, such as
yoga,meditation,swimming. Try to amuse
yourself with something which is of your
interest. I am thinking about you, since
I have a teen of 15 and can understand
your feelings very well. Keep us updated
of your steps. You and your health are so
important for us. Good luck

I spoke to one of my friends today before
seeing a movie with her, and she promised
me she'd always be here to speak if I
needed it but i'm not really the
self-indulgant kind of person. I don't
enjoy talking about myself, whether it be
something good or something bad, but I can
try my best.
I'm really excited for next year once I
begin highschool because i'll be involved
in the musicals, student council,
newspaper, soccer team and much more which
will help a lot.
