Im startng college in august and I plan on
doing the decathalon (all 10 track and
feild events) I havnt really excercised
since last track season and it seems like
my six-pac is slowley fading away. Im
going to join a gym very soon (i get a
discount from my work) and im gonna start
running as soon as it gets alittle warmer
outside.
This is pretty much the only tings I eat:
begals with low fat cream cheese, skim
milk/water/apple juice, home fries, eggs,
cheerios with brown sugar, mashed
potatoes, some form of chicken usually
baked, preztels, saltine crackers. Id say
whatever I eat 95% of the time it will be
something from that list because most of
that stuff is free at work =), is it
unhealthy to eat the same things all the
time?
Anyway what types of foods are good for
you, I know the obvious foods to avoid,
like fast food places, and I know fruits
and vegetables (i dont really like any
fruits or vegetables) are good for ya but
I wanna know like some common foods that
are good for ya. Does anyone have some
websites I can visit? I really wanna
start eating healthy.
Thanks!!

I think your diet is a little weak in the
vitamin area. Healthy foods to eat
include fish (especially salmon), eggs
(especially organic omega-3 types)soy
foods (soy milk, tofu, veggie burgers),
yes fruits & vegetables (try lots of
different kinds in lots of different
combinations, like maybe smoothies made
with bananas & berries, or carrots
cooked with cinnamon & butter, or
broccoli with cheese sauce, to find what
you like). Saltines & bagels are just
processed carbs --- maybe you could switch
to whole-grain crackers & whole wheat
bagels? Hash browns are fried, os not
very good for you. Maybe try a baked
potato with season salt & a little
low-fat sour cream.
I know lots of good nutrition books ---
check out your local library.
