I'm 22 and I was told I have
antiphospholipid anitbody syndrome after
the loss of my first child. 2years after
my 2nd chlid was born I was told I have
thrombocytopenia. I was hospitalized when
I saw brusing and expirenced really bad
headaches I also found a blood clot in my
mouth. I had a count of 4,000 platelets
when I went to the hospital. They gave me
prednisone for 2 weeks after I got out of
the hospital. About 2 months later the
headaches and red spots and brusing
started again my platelet level dropped
again this time to 12,000. They put me on
prednisone again. I 've been on it going
on 3 months now and during that time it
has already dropped twice but not
extremely low like before. They say this
will be a chronic problem but shouldn't
they just take out my spleen? But I was
told if they take out the spleen my liver
will take over what the spleen did. Is
this true?Wont this be bad for the liver?
& how will the removal of my spleen
effect my antiphospholipid antibody
syndrome?
