Car Accident Epidemic
Posted: 10-26-03 10:54am

Ok, I was just wondering if there is an epidemic going on or something??? My friend seana, the one who is preggy with the twins, her and my other girlfriend danica were in a car accident last night. Danica was driving out on the freeway and when she was exiting some guy was speeding up to pass a guy so he wouldn't miss the exit and ended up hitting the back end of her car slamming it into the wall! The car is completely totaled and they took seana to the er to have her and the babies checked out and everything looked ok. As you can imagine her body is aching and the er doctor gave her vicodin, but she refuses to take it, which is great! But I have no idea what to do to make her more comfortable. Kevin tried to massage her legs but it was too painful for her, so does anyone have any clue on what to do to help make her feel better??

Much love

Oh my god im so sorry to hear about the accident, are they sure seana and the babies are ok? Is danica ok? I'll be praying for them...Tell seana to take a nice warm bath...Not stifling hot, but warm....Put some bath and body works in there too to make it more comfy....Warm baths help heal and soothe aches and pains, joint problems, all of that....If uve got a tub pillow thatd be great too(those inflatable pillows w/ suction cups that attach to the tub for baths)and if u dont, roll up a towel and put it under ur neck...If that doesnt help then she should go to the supermarket and look for muscle creams/lotions that help to loosen tight muscles and help with aches...My dad is in construction and is on his feet all day and hes been having problems with his legs....He got this cream, its called...Let me go find it...Ok I got it, its called ice gel therapy..Its an external analgesic..Ok heres what it says on the front..."an external pain relieving theraputic gel for fast, temporary relief of minor aches and pains associated with muscle strains and sprains, brusies, backache and arthritis"..So it pretty much covers all of it...And you can also put ice packs on top of the area where u put it to help increase the effect of the cream...Sorry this is so long, but tell her about it, it helped him, so im sure itll help her....Oh and by the way, this specific one is eckerd brand...But im sure u can get something like it anywhere....Good luck and keep me posted on how her and the twins are doing!

I am so so sorry, but glad to hear that she is ok. Well, I was in a wreck in april and I totaled my car...... Bad memories. Anyway, heating pads help a lot, a comfortable bed, ummmmmmm a lot of care. Without meds the pain is horrible. I took meds for about 3 weeks after b-cuz the pain was so bad. So I understand how she feels. Plus she is preggy. All I can suggest is a heating pad for sure! It will help with pain anywhere!!!!!!
Keep us updated!
Love,
chanda

Ok thanks alot guys!! I am taking her for another ultrasound today with her regular ob to make sure that everything is still ok! Seana is such a trooper! She is in soooo much pain and hasn't whined once! We were trying the heating pad last night and by time it started to work she had to pee again! Lol so I had kevin pick up those heat pads that stick to your skin and placed them on her most painful spots and that seems to be helping. I had her in a warm bath about a million times yesterday, so she may still have pruny! Lol I think the babies are fine, she hasn't had any cramps or bleeding, the doctor just wants to check things out because of the seatbelt, she has a huge red indian burn across her lower belly and chest from sliding but she said that she didn't lean into the belt which is good! So I think she took most of the batter and bruises. As far as danica goes, she is fine! She has a few aches and pains but since they hit the wall on seana's side she took more of the blows. Kevin has been a nervous reck and when he went to work last night seana stayed with us and I swear he called about a million and one times! Lol he is such a sweetie! Anyway I should go, the little munchkin is up and wants her breakfast! Thanks again for all the advice ladies, vanessa we are checking with the doctor about that cream today and if she can use it we are picking it up!!! Thanks hun! And chanda I so sorry about your accident! I hope you are feeling better!

Much love

Well I dont have an old wives tale to tell you about something like this, but I can tell you that you are all in my hearts and that I am praying for you. For a car to be totalled, and for your friend and the twins to be ok that would be a miracle. Good luck from this day forward....
