Baby Movements- Worried.
Posted: 01-07-05 10:58am

Umm what could be the problem/s if you dont feel your baby moving around as much as it should?

I spoke too my midwife, and she said im supposed too be feeling on average 10 movements a day.
Im awake on average from 10am till 1am, and at most I feel 2-3 movements a day, most days none at all.

Im worried now, after she saod about the 10 movements a day, and I was wondering if anyone new what could be causing the lack of movement.

Perhaps you should call her again. Tell her that you only feel movements once in a while.

Tell your midwife you don't feel that many movements, but don't worry. I didn't feel much with my first. She was calm. But my second was a little wild cat in utero and still is btw!! Lol

Im 32 weeks pregnant.

My midwife listened too the heart beat, and said everything sounded fine, and said that my babys growing just fine aswell.
She told me too moniter the movements for the next couple of days, ive monitered 2 days now, and ive had only 2 movements, yesterday evening one after the other. And baby had hiccups in the morning.
Ive not felt anything today, and I hadent felt anything in the 2 days before yesterday.

Im getting more worried about it all now though, because I have it all on paper.

I dont know what kind of search to do in google too find out what the problem may be.

Well if you are almost due you wont feel as much movement as you did before and that is because of the limited space that the baby has, but you are suppose to feel some movement. If you feel scared they can always do a stress test to check on the baby or a non stress test. I hope everything is ok keep us up to date

A stress test is were they take this monitor and the hook it up with a belt around your tummy. It will measure everything. Babies heart rate movements and contractions.

its quite a strange feeling really, I notice it when my belly makes sudden jerks, with regular pattern to them. It also kinda feels like a slight popping your stomach, kinda similar too what babys first movements feel like.

It could be diffrent with everyone though.

Ok, thanx for the help.

Ive decided too not worry about it, and talk too my midwife again on thursday, since thats when im seeing her.
I dont really feel like going into the hospital at the moment, I hate them, even though maternity ward isnt all that bad.
