Hi everyone.
I would like to say thank you! I have
been reading most of the message. And it
has answered a lot of my question. I went
to the doctor for the 40 year old check
up. I don't go often, and I have to be in
bad shape. Mostly for breathing problems.
Anyway i'm rambling. I took a list in
with me. Stuff I put up with because I
have had it most of my life: joint
pain,mouth sores, back pain,being tired
all the time, ect. We went over my list
and thank god I did it that way. My
doctor checked for things he usually
doesn't. I was light headed from the lack
of blood when I left. Lol. My ana test
came back at 1:320. I have a question and
I hope one of you maybe able to help me.
Where can I find out what the
abbreviations are and what they mean for
the antigens? Under homogeneous it has
ds,ss,histone. Speckled has
sm,rnp,scl-70,ss-a,ss-b. Nucleolar has
scl-70,pm-1/scl. Centromere has
centromere.
Thank you
chydragon

doctor in november.

Chydragon welcome to the site!
I am afraid that I am no expert on the
terms used in relation to the blood tests,
you could try looking up the tests on
webmd....But I am not sure that it would
make any sense. Please ask your dr to
explain them to you!
Second, you sais you are going to an
arthritis dr, is this a rhumatologist?
Does the one you are schedule to see
sepcialize in treating lupus? In the
answer to either question is no, you need
to go back to you dr and get a new
referral. You need someon who
specializes in this disease so that they
will have the infomration and proper
treatemnt skill necessary to help you.
Please make sure you see the right dr the
first time so you can have a better chance
of getting the proper care.
Good luck - let us know how it goes -

Welcome! It is so nice to meet you! I am
ladybrannon.
May I suggest www.Lupus.Org?
They list all the blood tests usually done
(initially or continually) on lupus
patients.
Wedmd, as sam43 mentioned, is also a great
site.
There are also some uk sites that I have
found to be invaluable (the brits are way
more advanced, in my opinion, on
autoimmune diseases and their
treatments!). Try this site: http://www.Lupusuk.Com/
i hope this helps!
Hugs,

Thanks for the web sites, they helped out.
I didn't know what half of it meant. But
I gather enough to ask the right questions
for my doctors visit. He is a specialist
of lupus. I had to wait almost 3 months
for my appointment. My doc said he goes
over you with a microscope. And this
doctor takes his time with every patient.
I was told to keep a log until I go in.
And to write all the questions down so I
wont forget. And to bring my original
list. So I will let you know what the new
doc says.
Take care
chydragon.
