Obvious Delayed Puberty
Posted: 01-08-05 21:37pm

My name is jake and I was not sure who else to turn to about this. I'm 20 years old and have obvious delayed puberty. I am not sure how worried I should be. I'm 6'5ish and my voice is not very low at all. I am unable to grow facial hair and do not have as much pubic hair as I should. My penis is around 3 inches when un-erect. I have an appointment with a specialist next month but it's hell waiting for it and I want to know how alone I am with this and if things will change for the better. My main fear is that I haven't had a growth spurt yet and will end up being 7 feet tall. Let me know what you think.

Start working on your basketball skills now, and dominate, you will thank me later.

Some People Are Late Bloomers!
Posted: 01-13-05 21:45pm

Jake,

1. I would take a look at your parents and heridity. If you are a late bloomer it could be from you father's or mother's genes. You believe your body still can turn itself around by 24 if you are a late bloomer. It may take a few year more for it to bring your homones into equalibrium.

2. May be your body is not producing enough testoterone. There are cases of this where doctors will prescribe steriods to males to bring their levels up to normal. You may want to have a physical and have some test performed to check your testoterone levels.

3. Your genetics are the way that you are. If you find the right girl who loves you and you and return, they will love you for who you are, period.

4. Some of your concerns:
a. Facial hair - if it doesn't grow in fully, you will not have to shave as thoroughly. If you can grow a full beard or side burns, wear a gotee.
B. Pubic hair - many couples have sex in the dark. For some girls this could be a turn-on? Men's health say less hair at the base make your penis look bigger.
C. I don't think my un-erect penis is 3" unless relaxed. Men's health magazine states the average erect penis is 5"-6". Your height has nothing to do with your penis size. Bigger is not always better for satisfing women when having sex. Learning how to satisfy her will pay greater dividends in a relationship/marriage.
D. Many people are insecure about their body, but if a girl really loves you, she will except you for who and what you are. Be who you are, don't be afraid to take risks if you find a girl your attracted. Girls like to be persued. It took my wife 2 years of me pursuing her, before she realized that she loved me. As long as she doesn't tell you to get lost, wear her down! Be confident on who you are. You have a purpose and destiny. The bible states we are all fearfully and wonderfully made.

My recommendation is see a doctor and take a physical. Ask your questions. They can run test to see if you body is producing enough testoterone. If it isn't, they can regulate it for you through steriod creams, etc (doctor prescribed). Men's health magazine has put together eating plans to help the body's production of testoterone.

To me, it seem you'll be ok. Just seem to be a little insecure of your self.
I would highly recommend subscribing to men's health magazine to learn more about your body and what is normal and common to our bodies.

I hope this helps you,

tomz

Thanks for the help. It's not a matter of being insecure, i'm just looking to see if there's still a chance it will all turn around. I only mentioned my health to see what part of the puberty scale the growth spurt is, before or after the voice changing. I do have a doctors appointment with a specialist in late febuary where I will finally get some answers, i'm just looking for pre-thoughts before then. Although my main doctor has already said i'm low on testosterone and what not.

Would anything this specialist gives me help my voice change? That is the one i'm most concerned about.

May Need to Re-learn to Speak.
Posted: 01-14-05 12:51pm

Jake:

you may need to learn how to speak with a lower voice. I am a controller/accountant for the company I work. When I back up our support staff with the phone, sometimes people call me mame, miss, etc.

I have a soft spoken voice. I have had to learn to speak with a lower tone. There are organizations that have speach theorapy. Many hollywood actors/actresses have used speech theorapy to correct voice tone (sela ward has openly admitted this).

To try to train your voice, you need to be able to listen to your voice recorded and try to decrease your tone, or become louder.

Thats about the only thing I can think to recommend. See what your doctor recommends and determine what options you have.

Best wishes,

tomz

Tomz gave some good advice already.

Sounds like lack of testosterone. Most likely testosterone replacement therapy will be prescribed. Injectctions every 1-2 weeks. This will help with deepening your voice.

However, it could also be a condition where your vocal cords is extra taught or covered in a mucus not allowing them vibrate properly. Usually surgery is recommended to solve this issue.

Finally, i've noticed that tribulus, and zma (both supplements) lower my voice noticably... Much much lower.

Don't worry about the size of your penis unerect. They've found that men with smaller unerect penises gain more length when errect than a man who has a longer unerect penis, so all in all, it balances itself out
