Q: Help!!!

Hi!
I'm 17 and i'm pretty sure i'm pregnant. I had a period on time, but it was really light and only lasted 3 days. I've gained 6lbs., my breasts are really sore and getting hard, i've been eating alot of fish lately and I usually hate fish and i've been almost rediculosly moody. Does that sound to anyone else like i'm pregnant? This, however, is not even the begining of my worries. My parents hate my boyfriend to the point where they put a restraining order on us and there's nothing I can do because i'm a minor until the 19th of may. My mom told me that if I ever got pregnant she wouldn't support it, she wouldn't pay for it and she wouldn't love it in any way. I have no idea what to do and i'm scared to death. My boyfriend is being really supportive and thinks we should run away together until after I turn 18 so that then we can't get in trouble for being together, we can get married (which we planned to do before we knew) and my parents won't try to make me do something I don't want to do. What should I do??

It sounds like you could be pregnant, I would go get a blood test from your local free clinic or take an hpt just to make sure. Its great that your bf is supportive, and it sounds like you want to have this baby, and thats great! As far as your parents go I dont think they would be able to make you have an abortion or anything, and your due date will be after you turn 18 so youre an adult!! If your bf is over 18 im not sure if your parents can press charges or not, as long as it was consentual I dont think so. As far as your mom it will be her loss, but im sure she will come around, no one can resist a baby especially their own grandchild. Okay ya thats weird I read the one in teen pregnancy too!! Now im confused. :?

If your 5 weeks now, you will be 5 months pregnant when you turn 18 (i think, im not that great at math) I would not suggest running away until your 18, because its just not a great idea when your pregnant.

this could be from many different things. I would suggest taking a test to figure this out. But for one, stop eating fish. They are high in mercury which can harm the embryo and fetus. Secondly, I hope you are talking your folate.

have you talked with them about what will happen afterwards? Because if they alienate you to much, then they lose both you as a daughter and also their future grandchildren. Are they really that hip on imposing their will onto your life? Perhaps you should point that out to them?

first of all, before you panic, get a pregnancy test. Then talk with your parents about whether they are so insistent on hating your boyfriend that they are willing to lose you in the process. If he ends up being the one you want to marry, then they either have to adjust to that or simply not have you in their lives anymore. I am surprised that they haven't figured that out yet. Perhaps you need to remind them?

well, they are mostly cod and shag, so they should be ok. No salmon, no flounder or halibut, nothing from a lake.

A, yes. Nothing raw (yes, sushi is darned good. Unfortunately, the closest is about 150 miles away)

my doc told me salmon was okay in moderation and actually good for me and the baby because of the omega-3.

that depends very much on where it is from. Farmed alaska salmon are out. Certainly, salmon from the great lakes is completely out (even non-pregnant people shouldn't eat those). North-atlantic slamon are mostly ok. For pregnant women, omega-3 is safer as supplements, either as fishoil capsules(these are checked for mercury) or flaxseed oil capsules.

yes. Remember to read the labels. Most salmon have their origin listed.

i kno I have had a abortin and I am truly sorry for killing my baby but it was fro the best all I wanted since then was to forget about it but its hard when u are still looking for the baby's daddy 2 be with there is a chance in hel that we will ever speak again
if you do have $$ isnt really a excuse to abort a baby find away there is wel-fare wic or other programs out there make the right decison so it dont hurt u fir the rest of yr life
