When can you stop sterilizing bottles?

You only have to do it the first time...Do you have a dishwasher? Some drs will say to do it all the time, but it's better for you baby to introduce them to household germs...Not bad ones that will get them sick or anything, just normal things thath you get too!! :) it won't hurt them. I only sterilized the fisrt time and after that I put them in a dishwasher...No problems with my son getting sick or anything. :)

As long as you wash them after every use you're fine. :)

Just my opinion but I would still sterilize just to be safe, at least the nipples. If you dont clean them good enough your baby could get thrush!!

Thrush is due to a thing called "candida" which doesn't really have much to do with the nipples...Unless you're touching the nipples all the time. My son just got over thrush and hasn't had it since...And I don't sterlize the bottles all the time. :) it also has something to do with the baby going through the birth canal, since it's a type of yeast and you can get yeast infections...We all have yeast even if it isn't an infection.

When my son was little he got thrush and his pediatrician said it couldve been caused from nipples not being cleaned wll enough, nipples being touched, or someone else drinking from the same bottle (eeew). Like I said to be safe I would, but thats just me, we all have our own ways of doing things.

you really never want to stop sterilizing the bottles. It is always good to keep them 100% clean. There are alot of germs on your hands and the babies as well as the surrounding area. This is just my opinion

What about them bottle insert things? My moms bought me alot of those. I told her I wanted plain out bottles, but she said 'there better cause they close and they drink and they dont have bubbles' I mean, whats the differance? I think they look like a pain in the assss.

They are a pain, but your moms right since its a bag you can sqeeze out the air bubbles, way less gas for the baby. Its so sad when a baby has gas, you just know theyre in pain. You still have to sterilize the nipple and stuff though. They also have some bottles now that prevent gas im going to use Dr. Browns they have a tube in them that prevents most air bubbles, they are pretty expensive, but I figure I can get away with 4 or 5 because I will be breastfeeding most of the time.
