Men & Eating Disorders

My new boyfriend doesnt eat, I didnt notice the extent of his eating problems until I spent a whole weekend with him.

Basically he has one meal a day, and not even what you could call a proper meal, usually a sandwich, or a piece of toast. And he will eat the same one meal a day for months on end, for exmaple, recently it has been a cheese and onion sandwich.

He doesnt sleep, either, only 4 hours a night at most.

When I told him that his eating habits arent normal or healthy, he just shrugged and said he doesnt get hungry. He doesnt think he is thin, he thinks he is the right size for his height. But at 6'1" tall he weighs less than me (i am 5'8" tall and of average size/slim), his waist is just 28" which again is smaller than mine.

He also is hot all the time, which causes him to sweat alot, and he cannot get a full erection, his penis kind of gets semi hard, but not completely, I dont know if that is normal or not?

I am really worried about him, but dont want to upset him or hurt his pride by mentioning these things to him before getting some advice.

Does anyone know the symptoms of male eating disorders? The effects and how best to tackle it?

If I were you I would go somewhere that specilices in it without him and ask the people what signs might be and tell them about your boyfired. If it sound like he might have and eating disorder then take him there or try to get him yourself to eat.

Has he ever been tested for diabetes?????? You may want to push him to get that simple test - especially if there is a family history of diabetes.

Hey, I think I am having the same kind of problem with my best mate

he doesnt seem to eat anything at all, or drink a lot and I am getting very worried about him. I also think he suffers from depression.

When he does eat, its only about one meal a day and small portions at that. He just tells me he 'isnt feeling too hungry' or 'not in the mood for food today.'

he passes out alot aswell. Recently it was on day where he hadnt eaten anything apart from a crust of bread and he passed out for roughly half an hour.

About a fortnight ago it happened also. We were doing sport at school and he was sick everywhere and then collapsed for about 5-10 minites.

I am 5'4' and weigh around 9 stone, but he is a lot taller than me at 5'10' and weighs 8 stone 4.

I asked him if he thought he had an eating disorder, and he replyed that of course he didnt, and I wasnt to worry. He said he doesnt eat alot, but when he does eat its ok.

I am really confused and dont know what to do. I dont lose my best friend.
