I am almost 16 years old. Before, I would
sometimes not have my period every month,
and not at the same time, but I would at
least every other month. Now, I haven't
had it since august. I don't really want
to talk to my mom about it because I feel
weird, and I know I am not pregnant
because I have never done anything sexual.
My friend told me that she has gone up to
about 4 monthes without hers, I was just
wondering if there could be something
wrong with me. Please let me know!

I would relax.. It's completely normal at
your age for your period to suddenly get
out of whack. It depends on the person..
But many people don't regulate completely
(if at all) until they are 18-20. If you
know you are not pregnant and you are not
feeling sick or having unusual discharge
or pains, then you are ok. I know it is
not fun never knowing, but I don't think
there are any problems to worry about.

If you are not sexually active, please go
to your mom and let her know what is going
on!It may be perfectly normal,as was
posted before, but,it would not hurt to
have a doctor check you out.Do you have
any eating disorders??That can make your
periods stop.As can excessive
exercising. Please do not hide this from
your mom,she will probably be more upset
if you do not tell her than if you
did.Good luck to you.

Don't worry. It is normal at your age.
My daughter was like you. Sometimes she
has it twice a month, then it disappear for
a while. After 3 years it started to be
normal. It is good if you talk to your
mom. She will help you better than
others.

Hello. I agree with the others. You
should tell your mom about it. At your
age you probably have nothing wrong. I'm
sure I probably wasn't on a normal
schedule at your age either. Also, I
noticed your screen name. Cheerleader eh?
Cheerleading used to be my life! As a
serious athlete your cycle can easily be
altered due to lots of activity. Maybe
that could be part of it. At any rate,
tell your mom about it and everything will
probably be fine.
