I Think Im Gunna Name Her...
Posted: 01-11-05 19:39pm

Malibu alina

i know you all hate it, but im so sick of people telling me what I should name her. No one likes malibu, but I dont like the names they suggest, and shes my baby!

Example: my mom says name her desiree, ashley, megan, madison, haylie, or cherie cause I hate all the names you pick out.

She says, kids named apple and coco are gunna get made fun of...
But im not picking a name on 'what I think kids wont make fun of'
im picking by what I like.

I dont like desiree at all, and all the other names are to common/popular.
And everytime I hear malibu I hear a ding in my head, I heard snoop dogg say it like 5 minutes ago, and it sounded so cute. And I love love love when luis says it in spanish, it sounds soooo freaking pretty.

I kinda had a change of heart, after I heard all the negative things some of you said about it, but after all that, I still love it. Even more.
I have a 'weird' way of thinking about things, and I know shes not gunna be me, but that name resembles my style and the way I am.

Ill let you girls know if I change it. Haha :)

I think I said this before, but I really like it. My name is sky I hated it growing up but I really appreciate now. Besides your daughter might like it, it may fit her perfectly. Who knows other kids may wish they had a cool name like that. I say if you love it then go for it!

Thanks soo much sky! Before I even got pg, I had stormy sky picked out for my girl, and rusty angel picked out for my boy. Ya, that didnt happen. I really do like sky though. Its like every name under one roof kinda. If I dont pick malibu, I like ariel. I really dont want something that will become popular.

I don't think you should worry what anyone else thinks of your baby's name cuz it's your baby not theirs. Your baby will be beautiful and even if other people don't care for the name at first they'll think different once they connect it with your beautiful baby girl. :)

my bf keeps joking if I have a girl I should name her something like grizelda and if I have a boy I should name him something like marvin.

i think your name's just fine. :)

Luis did that at first too. He said the stupidest names, that werent even names. But I said if its a boy, he could name it, I dont really like any boy names...Im not really fond of boys (little ones, that is) they make me nervous, I dont know why. But were having a girl, so woo hoo for me. I bought her a whole new wardrobe yesterday!

Well I would love to have any baby. But I know if I had a boy, he would be 'daddys buddy' and they would gang up on me. I get bullied enough from just luis. I really really wanted a girl cause everyone said I was having a boy, it pissed me off cause I knew they were just saying it to piss me off cause they knew I wanted a girl. Does that make sence? And I had bought so many little girl outfits, just cause there frilly and cute. And I make my own clothes, so I can make us matching outfits. Ah hah!

Aw thanks! :) your post made me happy! :) yes, I loooove shopping. I love being able to controll what someone else wears. Thats why I love being a designer so much. I was in this baby store, and I seen this pink tutu, its something I would wear, and I was like 'omg I have to get this, we could match' but I didnt know what she would wear it with (its see through) so I put it back, and I kept thinking about it, then I found these perfect pair of pink tights, and I went back and bought it. I just cant wait for her to be like mommy I wanna wear your clothes. Ya, I shop in the little girls section *blush*

i know we as moms want to pick names that we like, but we need to make sure that our child will like his/her name to. And I agree to a point about what your mom is saying. You dont want your child coming home everyday crying because they are being bullied teased or taunted.. Malibu is a pretty name but could you imagine how ugly some people can be.

I see your points, but then again little malibu and kaelyn could be made fun of for not wearing 'the right clothes' or being a 'dork' kids get made fun of for alot of differant things. I think having an original name is better then being in a classroom with sandy a, sandy b, and sandy c.

Ya know I think it is like that in alotta places from the start I wanted something different and at my old school there was only one kaelyn!!So I was happy about that I kinda think when he is older he might go by his middle name which is tony but thats totally up to him.
Pinkbaby-what were u thinkin for a middle name?

Ive never known a kaelyn. But im from a small town, and we dont have much of...Anything. Accept theres 5 jessicas, 4 stevens, 4 ambers, and like 8 brians. I think theres more groups, but those were the ones that popped into my head first. Thankfully, theres no other michelles. Her middle name would be alina, probably no matter what. Its the only name weve kept since the begining through out all the names. It might even end up being her first name...Who knows. Im still really really fighting for malibu, some days he likes it, then the next he doesnt.

Luis likes blanca alina, but I know he wont be calling her blanca, hell call her blankita (the kita = small/baby in spanish) and it sounds better being alina blankita. Does that make sence?
Blanca (blankita) alina
-or-
alina blanca (blankita)...Thats it... Malibu is still better! :)
