Missed Period And Negative Test Posted: 01-13-05 13:25pm
Hey everyone I am new here. Lately I
have been feeling a little different than
usual. Last month whilel I was still
actively on birth control I recieved my
period about four days early. That never
happens. I am on the patch so usually it
takes like 3-4 days for the hormones to
back off and for my period to start. I
ran out of patches and had an ice storm
so I didnt get them until like 2 weeks in
to my new cycle. So I put one on anyways
and I removed it last week around mon or
tue. Now today is thur of the next week.
I have had a little bit of cramping that
last about 2 secs for the whole day and
then disapears. So beig a week over due
I took a hpt and it came out negative!!
So what is going on with me?? Any
thoughts?
Thanks
kaila :?

Im not sure because ive never been on
birth control, but your hormones are
probably out of whack from stopping and
going back on and stuff, so I wouldnt
worry. Id just wait it out and see if it
starts. If it doesnt start in a week or
so id take another test.

Thanks so much. I really needed some
advice. I am not sure for sure what I am
or what I am not. A baby in not an
inconvience, I would be so happy and so
would my fiance, but I just want to get it
straightened out for sure. I think I am
going to give a week and if my period
doesn't start then I will definently take
a test and see my obgyn. Thanks alot.

I was on the patch and I stopped because
of health insurance issues. But I stopped
on my last week of patches. So after my
"off week" (aka period) I never put it
back on. During that first unprotected
month me and my fiance' were having
unprotected sex. We were using the pull
out method because I figured I would still
have the b/c hormone in my system for at
least a month. There was no period for
that first month. I took a preg. Test
and it came back neg. About 2 weeks later
I went to the bathroom on a normal day and
noticed I was bleeding a sort of brown
substance. I had no cramps, no sore
boobs, nothing. It lasted about 4 days
and only consisted of about 1 1/2 table
spoons a day.(which is totally opposite of
my period) I am normally, during my
period, on iron supplements due to
hemmorage like bleeding.
After the dark short lasting bleeding, I
continued to have unprotected sex and
threw out the pull out method. 2 weeks
later I took a 99 cent preg. Test
and it also came out neg.(it told me to
put 4 drops of urine on the little hole) I
dont know..It was weird. And so that's
whats happening to me after getting off of
birth control. I'm all wacked out down
there...Or am I pregnant. By my
calculations...I would almost be 2 months.
I think I would know...Ya know??

Well a few days after I wrote I had my
period with slight to mild cramps and it
was much heavier than before. It was
heavy for the first 25 days and then
yesterday and today it has only been like
2 drop. Not normal. I usually have a
5-7 day period and I am not heavy but not
light, just in the middle. So I am
worried that I may be pregnant b/c I am
still getting bloated, I am really tired,
and even intercourse is somewhat painfull.
I am also on antibiotics and and some
stomache pills due to my heartburn pills
not working. So if I think that I may be
pregnant should I not be taking the pills?
Any advice would be helpfull. Thanks so
much for all of the advice.

If you are late getting the patch on, you
really are not at all protected during
that cycle.

Ok that was supposed tosay the first 2
days not the first 25 days lol. Ok but
today I am still have a little bleeding
not much to brag about. No cramps. I
would go to my doctor but his office just
moved across town so I have to find
another doctor on my plan. Which really
blows. So my fiance thinks that I should
take another test but I told him that I
started my period and that the test was no
so I probably am not. But he said that
he thinks that I am b/c I have gained 5
lbs in about 2 weeks or less. But I dont
really think you would gain weight that
fast unless you are further along?
Right?
