Colon Cleansing
Posted: 01-14-05 14:44pm

I bought a colon cleaning kit and someone told me that it's dangerous to have your colon cleaned out period. Whether done by a doctor or at home. That she knew 2 people that had died from it because they had a tiny hole in their colon and some of the toxic bacteria seeped through while cleaning the colon. I have searched and searched the internet and have yet to find any deaths because of this procedure.

What do you all think? Could this be true? I'd like to ease my mind before I start this! Augh!!

Thanks!! Dana

It sounds a little suspicious to me. Especially since if they did have a small hole in their colon, bacteria would have gone through eventually on it's own.. If you are healthy and have no problems intestinally then you should be fine. They only thing you have to be careful with that can be dangerous is often when you cleanse your colon you flush out the good bacteria as well as the bad which can cause problems. You want to make sure you take supplements to refresh the good bacteria. Some kits come with these supplements, I don't know what you bought. You may want to do research if you haven't . I keep thinking about doing a colon cleanse.. But i've been looking at a product from gnc that does it through using laxatives, etc then introducing the good bacteria back into your system.

Yea if they had a hole in there colon, they died from bowel and not the cleansing pill..

I am on the colon cleaning pill now that I got from gnc ..Taking as I type.. 4 pills 3x daily..

Did u know that john wayne died with 40 pounds of crap in his colon
they say elvis died with 60 pounds in his colon..I found this on a web site..The other day.. I wished I had keep it under favorites...
But cleaning ure colon is a good thing.. Read my other post my son just went though a really bad pile up.. Big time..Very sick..As of today hes ok..Moving around some..
If I find that site I will post it.. To help u out.. Also look up paristies in ure colon...
Humans can get bugs, worms, and all kinds of stuff in ure colon..The site I was on was so good it showed a worm in a human can grow to be 35 foot long in the human body..
It also said the human colon only weights 4 lbs.. And the best way to stay healthy was to drink lots and lots of water.. Bottled ...

Good luck.. Kids rented a movie.. Time for a break..Lol

A friend of mine swears by colonics but i've read a few of those nasty reports you mentioned. In these cases the colonic device punctures through the colon causing the problems. I prefer to do natural digestive detoxes. Right now i'm on an ionized mineral detox supplement. It is doing great things so far!

Let me know if you want more details. Basically these ionized minerals are better than regular minerals because they can actually be absorbed in the digestive tract.

Psyllium Husks a Lifesaver
Posted: 05-13-05 11:25am

I had the worst case of nervous stomach and ibs. I would fear leaving the house because I was afraid of having an attack somewhere that I couldn't get to a bathroom. Pepdo became my best friend.

We'll then a friend turned me on to psyllium husks and after about 1 month of using everyday, I don't have any trace of upset stomach or ibs.

I went to many doctors, who prescribed many tests and pills. Not one of them had mentioned psyllium. They didn't want to stop the money train from rolling in.

I think that many of the digestive problems experienced is most likely a lack of fiber in the diet and I would say try psyllium husk powder, it's worth a shot.

Primal defense is the best on the market. Made by garden of life.
It has all strains of good bacteria to put back in your system after you colon cleanse.
I have some and I swear by it. It comes in a pill form or powder.
Tastes like unsweeten tea.

You won't regret it.

hi there!
I would recommend a natural cleanse. I did the lemonade diet (master cleanse) for 10 days. I recommend it to all. But read all about it before and learn how to start eating solid again. This cleanse is absolutely natural, dosn`t cost much and very effective. It clean all the toxine, and bacteria in your system, which get you rid of lots of bad addiction and all sorts of health issues. Good luck!

I have been wanting to do this for awhile, but I don't know if I should take pills for the cleansing or go to a place and have it done. Is colonic irrigation the same as a colon cleanse? I have heard such good things about the health benefits from doing this I am just unsure of what way to do it. What do you think?

Your Colon Doesn't Need Cleansing
Posted: 06-02-06 01:02am

I used one of the "top rated" colon cleansers and saw little or no results afterward. I followed the directions and completed the program as instructed. I did not feel any better afterward and I saw none of the expected results in my toilet. I am 52 years old and have eaten my share of junk food over the years. I talked to my doctor who happens to be a surgeon. He said that no one's colon is impacted like these colon cleansing companies want you to believe. When doing colonoscopies (spelling?) they never see the type of sludge that these companies are claiming may be lurking in your colon. Someone mentioned that elvis had 60 pounds of gunk in his colon when he died?!?!? Do you know how much space 60 pounds of gunk would take up in your body cavity, let alone, inside your colon? That "60 pounds" story is just a stupid rumor that was started by someone. A co-worker of mine used a different brand of cleanser and she saw no results and no improvement to her health. Save your money, people. You don't need to cleanse your colon because it's not coated with a bunch of gunk. If it were, you would die from malnutrition. Think about that before spending your money.

i don't know so much about undigested fecal matter sitting in your colon, but I do know that your colon can indeed become impacted. It's happened to me and it's happened to my mom. A simple x-ray from your doctor can determine if your colon is impacted. A high-fiber diet and a fiber supplement can help you out if that is the case.

I suffered from really bad constipation when I was 18 and i've had problems on and off ever since. I had an upper gi and lower gi and was totally cleaned out before each procedure. I didn't pass any worms, worm eggs or anything else but poop. I have also had to deal with my share of enemas, and while those did the trick, I also did not see anything suspicious in the toilet. I'm not saying that other people haven't seen these things, but i'm not so sure that I have anything like that going on inside of me. I've taken magnesium citrate laxatives and milk of mag when i've gotten really stopped up and those have produced effective results--but no worms.

I have found, however, that my bowels have gotten rather small and I do get constipated now and again. I've considered doing a colon cleanse, but I am not convinced that it is necessary or entirely safe. I tried a natural, herbal cleanser from barlean's that contained herbs, full-spectrum digestive enzymes and bacteria--it made me constipated and set me back $20. I tried taking just plain digestive enzymes and that helped some, so I will probably go back to that. My guess is that I probably should just go to the doctor and talk to him about my problem. In the meantime, i'm getting back on the metamucil and stool softeners, which is what my gastroenterologist prescribed for me.

The stuff they sell you to "cleanse" your colon is the same stuff that subsequently comes out looking like impacted fecal matter. Instead, just eat a bunch of clay, then say, "holy cr@p! Look at all that clay-like stuff coming out of me!" much cheaper with same result.

Read about it here:

http://www.Rawveg.Info/co loncleanse.Html

...Since user-created links don't work on the ehealth website (because of some bizarre auto-capitalize "feature" that re-capitalizes your post incorrectly along with adding all kinds of weird spaces and stuff), you'll need to cut and paste the following url into your browser, then change the capital "h" in html to a lower-case "h", then it will work.

Rolling Eyes

good luck and do a lot of research before you buy anything to put in your body.

Another informative link: ht tp://www.Quackwatch.Org/01quackeryrelatedt opics/gastro.Html

(change the capital "h" in html to a lower-case "h" and then the link will work)

I dont know about these kits, but I did the master cleanse that someone else mentioned. I did it for the recommended 10 days and I was happy with the results. I felt great during and after. I wish I had kept to better diet after, I want to do it again sometime.

Keep Your Colon Clean! It's Important - Pooping Clay Is Not
Posted: 12-01-06 12:53pm

Call me crazy but I love a good colon cleanse - makes you feel like a new person - I do agree w/ ultrajosh - some products say you produce this plaque from the insides but its really just the product excreating. Go figure....I have tried those before and the bad thing about it is sometimes they end of making you constipated and thats no fun. Most recently - I purchased oxypower and this stuff is good......They don't claim to make you poo plastic. It made me feel awesome - I had allergies and honestly they went away after this cleanse. I am not the only one who has used it w/ great results. If you do a search for it over at curezone.Com lots of people have done well on it (or just do a general web search). This product adds oxygen to the intestines which helps clean the colon - of course everyone's body is different so do some research on your own and I wish you all squeaky clean colons - I don't care what some of your doctors say about impacted fecal matter being in your colon or not - do your own research. Look at the rise of colon cancers in the last few years - don't be deceived keep it clean

here is some info on oxy-powder

I agree with taunta, I too have used oxy-powder and have had a wonderful experience with them. I feel so completely refreshed. For those of you wondering what this product is, oxy-powder is a scientifically formulated compound used to safely aid the body in relieving occasional constipation. This is important because a clean, constipation-free, intestinal tract is the beginning of maintaining optimal health.

For more info call up the customer service line, they are more than happy to answer any questions you might have, or visit them here:

I can't beleive that you guys have mentioned Oxy-Powder!

My grandma just told me about this product. Her and one of her friends use this product regularly. They are both in their upper 70's and suffer from chronic constipation. They are a couple of holisitc hippies that have tried various kinds of colon cleansers. They both swear by this product. And, of course, everytime I talk to her, she's pushing me on all of the NEW supplements she has tried. Frankly, I don't really care. But she keeps insisting I try this one.

The one thing they really, really like about this cleanser is that the only thing you have to do is take a pill before you go to sleep. No fasting diets or disgusting teas they have to drink on the hour, every hour. I haven't tried it yet. She's supposed to bring me some of her bottle down for me to try. Can anyone give me some advice on it before I try it?

Has anyone ever tried the Blessed Herbs colon cleanser? I have, I didnt like the tea you have to drink with it... rather foul tasting. Kinda turned me off of the whole colon cleansing idea.

Although this is an older post I thought it would be important to respond. There are a lot of products on the market today and I have tried quite a few of them.
For me the colonix by drnatura has helped me for the past 8 years. It is a key component in keeping me healthy and my body functioning in top form. I also incorporate the "flora protect" probiotics by drnatura to restore good bacteria. I have used other cleanses and nothing comes close to the results I've experienced when using colonix. I am also using the toxinout and incorporate that yearly with the colonix program.
Good luck to all who are seeking answers - I know my answer is drnatura and colonix.
