Hi to everyone I am obviously new to this board but I just have a question I went to my first drs appt today I am only 6 wks by the way and he didnt perform a pap smear or check my cervix or anything then he also didnt schedule my next appt until dec even though I have been repeatedly told you are supposed to go every month does any know if this is normal? Or should I begin my search for a new dr?? Thanks for any advice.

Welcome to the boards. I would suggest looking for another Dr. He doesn't seem to care too much about you or your child.

Sweetie you mite want to look into another doctor. If he didn't even do a pap smear or set up another appointment until december then he isn't very responsible. And obviously doens't care all that much. Hope you find another one that is much better ~melissa

First off welcome to the boards, you are going to be overwhelmed with the responses and the people in here who really do care. It is great. I am 16 and I have a 6 month old son, I think that you should go and get a new doctor. No matter how far I was I went every month, I got two paps, and I got two ultrasounds. And near the end of my pregnancy I went once a week...Well do me a favor and keep us all posted...

Hey Again

Hi I actually have a somewhat better opion of my dr after todayi had to go back in because back in june my previous dr thought I might have vaginitis (which she said is very common and not an std) anyways to make a long story somewhat shorter lol I never finished the medicine she prescribed since she wasnt even sure I had it and then yesterday I read in my pregnancy book it can cause miscarriages so I called after almost running to the hospital lol and asked when they could get me back in needless to say they got me in today then after an hour wait he came back apologized and did a pap, he called me and said everything came back normal and I was fine, which trust me was a huge relief, my husband hasnt meant him yet (hes away at pldc with the military) but I figure I will at least give my husband a chance to meet him and see what he thinks, oh by the way I guess other than my dr problems I havent really told you much about me I am 17 married and have two step kids (although neither me or the kids see it that way) anyways I will have to figure out how to post some pictures here soon. Thanks to everyone for all your advice and replys. :d
