25 And Have Pelvic Congestion...parital Or Full? Help!! Posted: 01-15-05 12:58pm
I am 25 and just went through the
laparoscopy to see if I had endometriosis.
Instead I have "pelvic congestion".
Any suggestions on what to do? I have
had severe periods and pain during and
after intercourse for years. I have
wanted them to do a hysterectomy for a
year now. Now the doctor is saying do a
partial to prevent menopause but won't I
have problems with the ovaries? And
won't I still have to go back years later
and get those removed. This is a major
surgery and I don't think I want to have
it twice! Any suggestions, please help!!
I am confused and have no clue what to
do!

I Am Starting Endo Testing Posted: 01-25-05 20:33pm
Hi,
i just went to the dr this morning and she
is beginning the testing (possibly lapro
in the near future) to determine if I have
endometriosis. I'm 24 and totally freaked
out. I have never heard of this pelvic
congestion, so you've given me something
else to look into.
Do you have kids? How are you dealing
with all of this stuff happening at such a
young age? I am single, and have no
kids. You can understand my confliction
over this.
Being able to talk to someone going
through something similar would be nice.

I Feel Ya Sister Posted: 01-25-05 21:21pm
It is hard to deal with these things at
such a young age. I already have a
daughter and a step-son so not looking to
have anymore. I would give anything to
get rid of the pain. Pelvic congestion
is varicous veins inside I guess is what
they are telling me. Not quite sure. I
have my two week follow up on 1/31 so I
will be sure to post any info I have that
wll help. I wish you the best of luck
and I hope everything goes good for you.
Be strong and tell the doctor's what you
want. It took a long time for them to do
something about mine, at one point they
told me that it was mental. Yeah ok!
Keep in touch!

They Said It Was Stress Posted: 01-25-05 21:34pm
I have had problems with my periods my
whole life. They've said it was stress
induced. The pain started recently after
a bad sexual experience. I went to the
doctor two weeks ago and she didn't want
to discuss anything until my pap on feb.
8th. Yesterday my occasional pain
throughout the say became constant and i'm
not even close to starting my period. So,
I called and was as aggressive as I could
be given the fact that I was terrified.
Anyway, I have yet to talk to anyone other
than my mom today because it is all I can
think about.
What the heck do I tell a guy I meet and
get involved with? "i may have trouble
getting pregnant."? I mean I feel like
this is something that should be disclosed
up front. Who's going to want someone
that may not be able to give him
children?
