Back Cramps
Posted: 10-11-05 21:06pm

Hi. 6 weeks pregnant. I'm having back cramps just like my period, getting them late at night. Just so worried something may be wrong, but trying not to worry. I know it could be a stretching uterus, but just scared im going to get my period and miscarry. First pregnancy. I also have an ovarian cyst on my left side and pregnancy is on the left side as well and the cramps are on the left side. So i'm just really nervous. My ob/gyn won't see me until another week. Anyone know anything about ovarian cysts and pregnancy?

Cramps!!
Posted: 02-19-06 19:42pm

Wow was I glad to find this page. I am 6 weeks pregnant and have been having the cramps (but no bleeding) several times a day since the 4th week, before I knew I was pregnant. A dozen other pregnancy sites were not helpful, and I was beginning to worry about ectopic pregnancy. I am so relieved to find that others out there are experiencing this and that there may be an explanation instead of a problem! Thanks so much!!

Angel, I think I know what you mean by the cramping before you go to the bathroom. It happens to me almost every morning. It's like my bladder has been waiting full forever and just can't wait for me to go! Lol it usually just give me a sort of sharp little pain when I start to go, and then it stops completely.

Cramping
Posted: 04-15-06 14:09pm

I just learned that I am pregnant and i've had my 'period-like' cramps for two weeks now- I am so relieved to find out that other women experience that as well. The doctor says they don't schedule appointments until I am 8 weeks and I just want to make sure I don't have a miscarriage again.

Talk to the nurse, tell her about your concerns, ask her if this is normal, their is nothing wrong with asking!
To you jessicals ask the nurse about being seen earlier than beeing seen earlier than 8 weeks, let her know why and ask he r about being seen to start you on you pre-natal care. None of you need the added stress while being pregnant.
Congratulations!
The best to all of you!

I, too, have cramps. But not in my uterus, only in my lower back. I am 8 weeks pregnant and I am not having any blood though.

I also experienced these period like cramps. For the first 6 weeks (8 weeks by dr wheel) they were over my ovaries in the stomach and in the back. I myself felt they were from the hormones my ovaries expelled in early pregnancy. They are very common in early pregnancy.

Hi, 5 weeks pregnant and also having cramps. I have had 3 misscarriages and with those previous pregnancies I never had cramping. I hoping these cramps are a good sign of a good pregnancy. My doctor had not mentioned anything about the cramping. Please let me know if the cramping is okay. It is not a constatnt cramp on and of and feel pressure in the middle.
Well congratulations to you all!!

i went to the doc today and asked him about the cramping and he said that cramping is a good sign that the uterus is growing :) he said that as long as spotting and cramping (severe) are not accompanied by each other, then not to be worried. He said cramping alone is normal, and spotting (while never normal) is ok if it's mild and not accompanied by severe cramping. :) so be happy! Your uterus is growing :) congrats!

Hi,

well my cramps have subsided, but was in the er on sunday for some bleeding. Not alot of bleeding but a little bit and a few peices of somthing that looked like tissue. I am now 6 1/2 weeks and when they did a sono in the er they did not find a heart beat, but my hormone level was still at 12,000. So I went home and was to follow up with my gyno. I went for blood work today to check my levels and they were at 19000. I was told they should of atleast doubled. Has anyone had anything like this happen?? Is there still a chance they will find a heartbeat??? Please help I am soooooo nervouse to have another miscarraige. This would make 4!!!

I was so scared that I was the only one that was getting period like cramping. I just found out on friday that I was pregnant. I got pregnant around this time last year and I had a miscarriage about 8 or 9 weeks in and im sure that I was having this same symptoms so I thought here it comes again. But only this time the cramping isn't half as bad. After I miscarried by period was horrible it hurt so much. Today is the day that it become the worst so I was worried glad other people out there have this too. Feel free to let me know how you are doin I love to talk and meet new people!

Hey Ash!

I had kinda bad cramps like right when you are going to get your period at first. Then they went away! Now I have a few cramps like a few days a week. They last maybe 5mins. Not bad at all. I was really worried about my back pain cause I really did not think it was normal cause i'm small and I had it last time I was pregnant. I dont know!!! I had my first check up a week ago and everything looked fine the babys little heart was just a pumping. I go to the doctor friday i'll ask him about the back pain then. Hope everything turns out great for you.

Thanks for the reply and it is very nice to know that there are people out there with this little problem..How far along are you? I have an appointment on the 13th to and I am also going to ask about these pains that I have been have but I also talked to my cousin last night and she is about 5 months along and she said before she knew she was pregnant she was getting period like cramps and she thought her period was coming so when she was a month late (her period wasn't regular) she took a test and low and behold she was 2 months along. So let me know what your doctor tells you! And once I talk to my doctor I will post what was said. Good luck to you also!!

Thanks
ash

Look its very normal to have cramps just as long as theirs no bleeding just when u have 2 much cramps stop doing what ever it is that ur doing rest and if u can lay down and put ur legs up or lay on ur left side do it it really helps.

Best of luck!!!!!!
