Lower Abs

I have a question for anyone who knows anything about lower abdominal excersize. I have been working on my abs for accouple of months now and I had no problems what so ever getting my upper abdominal muscles in shape. I've been researching lower abdominal excersize but cant seem to come up with much. Any one who has any ideas on how to get lower abs in shape would be much appreciated. Thanx.

Also I dont know if it matters much but i'm a female whos almost 20.

Hey.. Your answer is a pretty simple one. Ab exercises won't help. :)

ab exercises will only develop your upper ab muscles, and even then, not very much. Everyone naturally has ab's... However it's just hidden by a layer (or two.. Or ten) of fat. You want your abs to show, it's pretty simple.. All you have to do is lower your overall bf% and they'll show through nicely.

Thanx for your reply...

I realize that you need to rid your stomach of any excess body fat but there must be a way to exercise the lower muscles as well! I have very little fat on my stomach... Or the rest of my body... I was blessed with a great metabolism.... But my lower abs still do not show.

If anyone knows any excersizes they would be much appreciated.... I tried to find some on the internet but everything leads to some book or some scam to make you pay money.

But you may be right "justin_toronto"... But I hope there is some sort of excersize to better define my lower abs.

Your "lower abs" are your obliques. There are many excersises out there that can strenghten them. Search for obliques online. However in order for your abs to show then you must lose bf. Ab work does strenghten and build your muscles but it doesnt get you a ripped 6 pack. That and a lower bf will though.

As stated in another thread, the excercise wheel does all the areas of the abbs, top, bottom, and sides. If you haven't seen one, they're basically a weel with handles at the sides, and you go forward and back on it. Works wonders, more than anything i've ever tried.

How do you lower body fat? I am a 32 year old female and I am currently trying to get in shape. My biggest problem is my lower abs and I know that you can not spot train but I don't know what is an effective way to lower my bf. I am currently speed walking, i've joined a water aerobics class and I am very particular about what I eat though I am not on a diet. Any suggestions? My waist is now 31 inches and I want it to be about 26.
