Shyness (also known as social anxiety) is
a very common condition that is often
ignored. The effects of shyness can be
extremely detrimental to one's lifestyle,
preventing the individual from having any
kind of relationships, social interaction,
or even career advancement. It is the
loneliest condition in the world, and the
internet is the only place these sort of
people (like myself) can feel comfortable
talking to other human beings. I think a
forum for the introverted is much needed.

Ha ha. Yes but start believing that
you're confident and you will become more
confident. Shyness is there because you
believe its there. It doesn't have to be.
Although shyness is not a bad thing. Say
to yourself once or twice a day - "i will,
I shall, I can" and dont think to much as
your brain will get in the way of what you
really actually think.

That is a good idea for the forum. That
way anyone interested can share their
ideas and tips on what has helped or not
helped. Or chat with others and let
their frustration out. Shyness stinks.
I've always been shy. A lot of times
people think i'm mean or rude becuase I
don't talk much- but really it is just
because I am so shy. Sometimes I meet
new people and just totally draw a blank
and cannot think of anything to say.

I've gotten a lot better at it though.
Now when I draw a blank I try to pick
something on the person- like a shirt or
watch or something I like. Then I say-
"wow what a nice shirt", etc and it
sometimes breaks the ice and gets a
conversation going. Sometimes not!!!!
