after having the procedure done at the
beginning of december, I have just gotten
my period yesterday. I noticed that it
seems a lot heavier than I remember it
being. I'll just have to wait and see if
it ends up being longer as well.
I was wondering how many of you have
noticed a change after it was done and if
the change lasted. Also if there was a
change in your cycle or should I expect
the next one to come roughly the same time
that they used to arrive.

it could be. Once you
are pregnant, the lining of the uterus
rapidly builds up. An abortion will
interrupt that buildup but not reverse it.
The lining will be as build-up as it
was when the abortion occured. As such,
the next menstrual period will result in a
lot more of uterine lining material being
shed, thus causing a much heavier, and
possibly longer flow.

generally, the cycle
should be reset by now. The period you
have now will be the general benchmark for
when your periods will occur from now on.
You can somewhat regulate this through
birthcontrol pills, but this likely is
your future cycle time.

After my abortion, the first cycle was a
bit heavier and longer than normal.
After it stopped, I started a new pill
pack and within two to three months I was
having more regular (with regards to
heaviness) cycles consistent with the time
of the month for my pill pack. So, for a
little while, they may be heavier and you
may start at a different time.
A few months ago, we had a condom mishap
and although I am on the pill, we weren't
going to take any chances so I obtained ec
through the local planned parenthood and
that made me start a few days earlier. I
went back to my regular cycle when I
started the new pill pack. I haven't had
any long term effects from the abortion or
the ec.
I hope this helps and thank you, thank
you, thank you for everything else you
have said on here.
