Hemorrhoids
Posted: 01-18-05 11:33am

I have hemorrhoids for about 6 months now. After trying several creams, depositories, witch hazel and other stuff, my doctor prescribed me a
cream which contains cortison. My hemorrhoids didn't get any better.
I have an excellent diet, eat lots of vegetables, fruits, no chocolate, no caffeeine but have a sitting computer job. I've purchased a special sitting pillow (kind of like a doughnut) it helps a little bit for comfort.
I excercise 3 times a week. My father had hemorrhoids as well, I believe i've inhereted those from him.

Does anybody have a cure or an idea how to get rid of this problem?
I would appreciate it. I'm planning to have a baby this year, but i'm scared that any medication could be dangerous. Javascript:emoticon('')

Hemorrhoids

I have had hemorrhoids off and on for the past 3 years since I had my first daughter. Usually they come and go lasting anywhere from a couple of days to a week or so. I have tried creams also but nothing really works but time. I am expecting my second daughter at the end of the month and I have had hemorrhoids throughout this entire pregnancy which has made it very hard to get around, especially in these later weeks. And i'm sure that labor is really going to bring them out. I am planning on getting them removed after I have the baby. Right now it's too late to get anything done. But I would def. Recommend that you get them removed before you get pregnant!!! They only get worse while you are expecting. Frankly, i'm surprised that your doctor didn't recommend that you have them removed. And if he says it's not needed, I would suggest getting a second opinion!!! Good luck and take lots of sitz baths!!!

This is really embaressing and I have not told anyone I know yet, but I have hemorrhoids, well - one at least. Is this common at 16 years of age, and if not, is it more/less harmful at this age. It's really irritating and slightly painful when I sit down or move in a particular way. Can anyone help? Please tell me that they leave fairly quickly, it's not something I want to have to deal with having just started my a-levels.

Herbal Remedy
Posted: 09-25-05 15:02pm

I have started taking herbal remedies for all of my ailments, as traditional medicines do not seem to help. I suffered from terrible hemerrhoids for 3 months until a friend recommended taking the herbs horse chesnut, butcher's broom, and cayenne pepper. All work in slightly different ways as a blood thinner, astringent, reducer of vericose veins, and re-builder of veins in your body. Although you can buy them separately, they are much more effective if taken together. She also recommended taking flax oil (lowers cholesterol, prevents heart attacks, improves regularities, and helps dry skin--which I suffer from). You can find any of these herbal remedies from a health food store or gnc.

I bought "nature's way leg veins" (includes horsechesnut, butcher's broom, and cayenne pepper) from my local health food store and some flax oil. My hemerrhoids seemed gone after the second day! I have not had any problems since (and have continued taking the herbs). Considering I tried everything I could medically and over the counter, I am incredibly happy about the effectiveness of these and the cost (about $16.00 total).

I would strongly recommend trying these herbs. Good luck everyone!
