What Could It Be...bv Or a Yeast Infection? Posted: 01-18-05 20:10pm
Alright, so i'm a tad embarassed to talk
to anyone besides my doctor about this (i
have an appointment with her in a week,
but want some info from you guys first, so
I know what to ask). I've been having
symptoms of both bacterial vaginosis and
of a yeast infection, so i'm wondering if
which one I have (i hope it's not
both!)...Based on your experiences. I
have the weirdest discharge - it's thin
and white, and looks almost like fibres
from kleenex or something...It's also
incredibly itchy, and very occasionally
burns (not during urination). The thin
discharge is usually accompanied by a
fishy smell. Today though, I noticed a
lumpy white discharge, typical of a yeast
infection (i only have this kind of
discharge rarely). I have been suffering
with this for months and months. I buy
monistat, and it seems to work for about 4
weeks, and then the symptoms return.
They seem to be more apparent after
intercourse. My boyfriend and I have
been together for over a year, and are
eachother's only partner. We have also
both been tested for std's, so I know it's
not that. Does anyone have any idea
what's going on? This is getting really
annoying. :(

I was just at the doc and had a bacterial
infection and a yeast infection. So they
can go hand in hand. All they did was put
me on antibiotics and a prescription for
the yeast. I was also having a lot of
itching, really bad actually. Just make
sure you get it checked out. Either way
theyre both curable. Good luck
