Man... I had no idea how much paperwork, time talking on the phone, discussing things, and considering things, and insurance and bla bla bla bla bla... Man... I knew it was alot of work, but not this much...

But I am really really excited... My bf and I are getting a house... Im keeping it in my name in case things go downhill with us... Im trying to play this smart anyways... We live in southeast texas and my bf is a big hunter and loves peacefulness and lots of land and all that... And so do i... Better than such a big city... Im not the city girl type...

So here is the house we are looking at... In the picture it looks very small, but it only shows one side of the house... The house extends way out on the other side... And its on the river... Im already approved for the loan, just have to get all the paperwork done!! And make sure this is really really the house we want before anything is final...

3 bedroom
2 full baths
fireplace
boat parking
double pane windows
solar screens
smoke detectors
house alarm
sheetrock
ceiling fans
dishwasher
refrigerator
free standing range
self-clean oven
fenced half acre yard
storage building (matches house)
wooden deck
satellite dish
flood lights
concrete driveway

anyways.... Tell me what ya think any hints, tips, advice, questions I need to be sure and ask... Thanks gals...

I like it, but it would scare me about the water. I mean I know how to swim and all but 1 children dont so is it fenced off where your child would be/play, and what about flooding or whaen the water rises what would you have to do and what is covered. Im sorry I like it but yes there are alot of questions

Very pretty. How much is it? Definately keep it in your name. From my experience buying a house you don't really know what you're getting until you're living there for awhile so if you love it buy it. I love our house, but we did have some trouble shortly after moving in. Nothing major. You should know of any major problems before you buy anyway. Other stuff to think about that you may not know until moving in is where will the sun come in in the morning, at sunset, will there be any sun with all those trees, would you like that, little stuff like that. Also, our washer and dryer is in the basement and bedrooms are 3 flights of stairs up (sux). Okay enough about me...Nice house.

yes the flooding did come to mine and my bf's mind... The area they said will flood about 15 days out of the year... Other than that, they said we dont have to worry about it flooding horrible unless we have a hurricane... But thats anywhere... Yes the yard is fenced so no children (even though we dont have anyyet :) )

but yes, it is fenced it, and the gate has locks on it so they wont just swing open or anything...

Paint, flooring, appliances, maintances, roof siding etc. When wa the last time the deck was inspected stuff like that. Good luck hun. Just make sure you get the insurance that you can purchase.

yea, I will be getting insurance quotes after everthing is coming to an end...

268,000?!?!?!? Man... If you spent that much down here in texas
(at least where we are) then you would have a badass house...

My parents have a 3 bedroom 3 bath brick home, with 2 living areas, sheetrock, tile, 1/3 acre, utility room, etc, and its only 110,000

You will get home owners insurance for some stuff in the house. There are some optional inspections. Optional so if you have a gut feeling to go for then do it. And about the water. If your babies are born and raised there I don't think it will be much of a concern. You will start teaching them when they are infants about the dangers of water. Not to say you won't worry at all, but you know what I mean.
