Missed Periods And Ovulation
Posted: 01-24-05 02:04am

I have been off the pill for 8 months and have only had 3 periods in that time. I've heard that sometimes it takes about 6 months for periods to become regular again. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant, but since i'm not having regular periods, i'm having a hard time determining when i'm ovulating. Has anyone else had a similar situation and could offer me some info? Thanks!

Hi bran;
i was recently diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome,-irregular periods-irregular ovulation... I bought the first response ovulation detector to find out.. The first night I used it, I was ovualting.. Did the baby dance 3 days in a row, and am now in the 2 week wait... You might want to try that... Another sign you are ovulating is your cervical mucus...-sorry- alittle gross..... But if you are ttc , you could speak to your doctor or do a goggle search on temping(taking your temp every day to find out when you're ovulating) and charting your body. I know fertiltyfriend.Com has a way to chart. Again, haven't tried it, i'm on my first month ttc, and hoping I don't have to do any of that.

Thank you for the comments! I just recently started charting my bbt so I guess we'll see how that goes for a couple of months. In the meantime, I think I will make an appt with my ob/gyn, just to go and talk with her. Thanks again rinchan and rad for responding to me! Good luck to both of you! ;-)
