Endomytriosis?
Posted: 10-29-03 13:17pm

Hi i,m a new member and was just wondering whether anyone can provide me with any information. I have always had very heavy, painful periods, but for the past year or so I have had a lot of random bleeding (and I am on the pill-have been for 6 years). Also I suffer terrible stomach ache and can't seem to digest any substantial meals without getting chronic diorhea and stomach ache.
I have been to my doctor, who referred me to a specialist and said it was suspected endomytriosis-after an examination. I am currently living abroad until the end of the year but will have to have a loporoscopy on my return. Unfortunately noone can tell me much about this-so was just a cry for help really, as I am quite worried... Confused Confused

I am not sure exactly what you want to know but I will try to help. My doctor thinks I have the same disease, but I cannot afford to have the surgery to make sure. I have different symptons though. I have cysts, constant lower stomach pain and such.
Go to www.Dyspareunia.Org/html/e ndometriosis.Htm. You will find a lot of information there.

Endomytriosis

When I had a tubal ligation done in june of 2001, my doctor found out that I have endometriosis and fibroid tumors. Prior to having the surgery done, I was on the pill for 7 years. After my tubal ligation and not being on the pill anymore I started getting bad pains in my right side which traveled down to my thigh. I contacted the doctor about this and he gave me 4 options. Go back on the pill because it masks the pain, have a complete hysterectomy done, get these shots (can't remember the name) which puts you in menapause - 1 shot for 6 months, or just deal with the pain. I chose the last option - deal with the pain. The pain comes and goes right before my period and is mild to moderate at times. Surgery to remove the spots of the endometriosis is not an option because they can't remove it.

I hope I was able to help in some way. Good luck.
