I have my first doc appointment tomorrow
im estimating that im 7-8 weeks preg.
What kinds of things did they do at your
first app. And what can I expect? Im so
nervous and anxious (sp?) I want to go
know it's been killing me to wait!

Well at my first appt (i'm guesing it's
the same in cda or the us) they made me
sit with a nurse so she could find out my
family history and asked whether I was
happy about the baby. If my family and
bf's/hubby's family were supportive
etc...Then I had a pap smear (unless you
have proof of one being done in the last
6months-1year, then they do blood tets to
test for everything. Then I met with the
nurse again and she gave me a bunch of
booklets and forms and stuff like that.

They will do vitals. Push on your belly
and see where your uterus is. I think
you may have to get fully undressed.
Can't remember. Maybe do a vaginal
sonogram to get a better estimate of how
far along you are. Not much first visit.
You won't be able to hear the heartbeat.
It's mostly just to confirm the
pregnancy.

Ditto what everyone else said...
They check you and have you do a family
history on yourself and babies fathers
side. And they do vitals weight and give
you vitamins and etc. Good luck

I love going to my Dr. Appts!! Lol!!!
At my first appt I filled out a bunch of
paper work and answered a million
questions on family medical backround and
stuff like that......They did a pap and a
breast examination and pressed on my
belly.....That was about it. They sent
me to the hospital for to get my
bloodwork~i don't think they had a lab
there or something!! Have fun and let us
know how it goes!!!

Im back!! Im so happy I feel it went
great they started with a urine test and
then I doc did backround questionaire
which was no use (im adopted I don't now
anything) then he did a pap smear said
everything appeared to be great. Then it
took 3 nurses poking and proding me with
needles to find veins so I could give a
gallon of blood lol!!! I have my first
ultra sound at 10 weeks and that will be
on feb 25th (he said we can see the heart
beat and maybe hear it at that time im so
excited!!!!) thanks ladies for your
support

see it wasn't so bad now... And the next
one will be evn better with the u/s and
stuff. Bring tissues...Lol
