Anyone out there over 35 and pregnant? Actually i'll be 39 when I deliver. I'm nervous about the whole thing especially the delivery! Worried about the higher risks of defects and complications etc... Feels strange cause my other kids are teenagers! One will be 18 soon...Anyone out there have any complications due to maternal age?

I just wanted to let you know that my mother was 36 when she gave birth to my little brother (who is now 8 years old) and I was only 17 when she had him (the most wonderful birth control for me ever!). She had a perfectly normal pregnancy and delivery! The only thing I heard her say was that she gained more weight with him than she did with any of the rest of us! Don't worry - everything is going to be fine!!!

I am pregnant with my sixth child and I will be 39 when I deliver too. I just had my fifth baby last year. The only complication I had was gestational diabetes. They put me through so many tests because of my age. This will be my fifth c-section. Just enjoy your pregnancy and block everyone's opinions and views out. Good Luck!
