Can Anything Be Done For Me?? Posted: 10-29-03 21:24pm
I hope that somebody out there might be
able to shed some light on my problems.
I have suffered with stomach problems
since the day I was born. The past 2
years, since I was about 24, however, my
problems have grown in their intensity.
I suffer from the following ailments:
irritable bowel syndrome with constipation
and diarrhea, gastritis, gerd, elongated
colon, hiatal hernia, along with
polycystic ovaries (one of which is
non-functioning), and a kidney disorder
called medullary sponge kidney. My
doctor has prescribed every test for me,
including egd, colonoscopy, laproscopy,
upper and lower gi, hidascan, and various
x-rays and blood tests. I keep hearing
the same thing over and over again,
there's nothing we can do. The
conditions are not life-threatening, so,
because of the risks involved with
surgery, the doctors forego this avenue.
I just keep taking medication after
medication, try to eat the right things,
drink enough water, and doing what the
doctor tells me to do. But, the symptoms
persist on virtually a constant basis.
At the most, I will have 1 day a week
without so much as heartburn, but 98% of
the time I am suffering from one, or
usually more, symptoms of my conditions.
I miss work, I miss out on my life, and
have to wake up every day wondering if i'm
going to be sick or in pain and how bad it
will be. Will I be able to function or
will I be doubled over in pain for days on
end? I'm sorry to be so long-winded.
I'm just so completely frustrated from
dealing with this day after day. I hope
that somebody out there can offer me some
kind of hope! Thanks and good luck to
everyone!

Hi fern,
it sounds like you have a lot going on and
none of it sounds like fun. I do feel
for you. The only thing I am familiar
with out of all your ailments is the cysts
on your ovaries - only because I have
them. Mine got so bad it had me in bed
one day 23 out of 24 hours and the pain
lasted for 11 days! My gyno told me some
people just have "painful ovulation" well,
a couple of my cysts ruptured! I changed
gynocologists and my new one is wonderful.
She put me on birth control pills and
my pain stopped. I'm not sure if that is
right for you, but to control your cystic
pain on your ovaries, there are other
options. Ask your doctor about them.
If you dont like the answer, get another
opinion!! Dont *you* suffer just because
they dont feel like finding a solution to
your problem!
Good luck!!!

I am sorry you are having so many
problems, but I would try something called
noni. It is a juice from tahiti.
They sell it on puritan.Com. It suposed
to be good for various health issues.
It tastes yucky, but give it a try for a
few months, and see if you notice a
difference. You can take about two to
three table spoons to start. There are
websites about noni.
