Detached Retina Without Surgery : the Risks In General Posted: 01-28-05 15:24pm
My mother has a dehiscence in the retina
and should be subjected to surgery in
emergency.
She refuses to go to the hospital, she is
so afraid because she has a poor heart
condition and fears the general anesthesia
more than the vision loss.
What are the consequences (apart from the
vision loss) what are the risks involved
if one do not go to the hospital with a
detached retina.
I am very worried but she doesn't want to
undergo surgery, she prefers to loose an
eye.
Please give me an answer about the risks
to the health in general.
Thanks

Loss of vision alone - serious loss if
left untreated
