Good News As Well
Posted: 03-24-05 01:55am

Hi

just to let you all know. I am pregnant. 6 weeks now. I was quite shocked 'cos I only had 4 good eggs this month. Was not very hopeful maybe it caused me to relax and it worked. We had a first scan last week and saw the pregnancy sac. Going for another scan next week and we should see the heartbeat.

I'll be sending baby dust to all of you everyday. Good luck and hang in there. It will happen when we least expect it.

Thanx for all the wonderful support you have given me.

Salwa

Congrats to all those expecting.

I am hoping I am, been trying for a year, I am almost three weeks late, so I can only hope I am.
I heard after you have sex lay very still for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Is this true!

Myth Busters
Posted: 04-05-05 16:43pm

I'm new on the forum (which I joined for a totally seperate reason) and stumbled ont this page. My hus and I have been ttc for almost 4 years and in that time i've heard some doozies, some of them are here and it might help some of you seperate the hype.

"not having an orgasm (women of course)" myth--having an orgasm before your partner helps conception because it reduces the acidity of the vaginal secretions, which helps more of the little guys survive.

"holding your legs up after" sometimes helps, depending on the position of the cervix. If yours is tilted try laying on your stomach instead.

"stuff running out" usually caused by the cervix not being open enough for the sperm to get in. Cervix usually opens further 3 days before ovulation.

"ovulation tests" use them during the time you think you are ovulating. Ovulation occurs 14 days before your next period.

Hope this helps.

Shannon

Hello, I also have been trying for years now and I still have not conceived. My husband is in the military and so it has been hard especially since he was not here for all of 2004 because of deployment but he is home now and we have been married for over six years now and deperately want a child. Does anyone have any suggestions for us? Thanks so much.
