Pain And Cramping After Sex
Posted: 01-30-05 17:03pm

During sex a couple days ago, I felt an uncomfortable bump to the cervix. I didn't think too much of it, as i've had this happen before with my boyfriend. Afterwards this time I started to develop the worst cramps that lasted the whole day. The next day the cramps were gone but i'm still feeling sore and achy. I thought at first it was just bruising, but now i'm starting to worry if it might be something like pid. However, i'm in a mutually monogomous relationship and we were both tested before having sex, so i'm not sure how that could have happened...Although i've read that rarely pid can be caused by e coli or strep, 90% of the time is chlamydia or gonorrhea. Any ideas? Should I just trek over to the planned parenthood to figure this out? :?:

I can relate to you 100%. The exact same thing happened to me over and over again for about four years... It took doctors all that time to figure out what was wrong... And it was so simple. Now, I don't know if this is the exact same diagnosis as what you might have, but sex would bring it on a lot of time and then it was followed by the most excrutiating cramping i've ever experienced, and for days thereafter it left me sore and aching.

It turned out to be little cysts on my ovaries that were bursting. I would go to see you gyn about it, you could have polycystic ovaries, or just be more prone than usual to ovarian cysts. Or you may have something completely different. But regardless, pain that lasts that long needs to be investigated.

Good luck!

Fibroids?
Posted: 02-01-05 03:51am

I went into planned parenthood today to see what the problem might be. They basically threw up their hands in confusion. No bladder infection, no yeast infection, healthy cervix, etc. She said that my uterus seemed too big and that I should see a gyno or gp for follow up so they could do an ultrasound too see if I had fibroids. I just searched for some info on those and I think I was less worried thinking it was an infection. Sigh.

However, she also said that it might be that my uterus was just irritable b/c i'm pmsing now and that bumping it the wrong way during sex just set off cascade of cramping and pain that kind of fed on itself. If that was the case she said it would just go away. I'm hoping it's this second explanation...It is the first time i've had a problem like this.

I don't think it's a problem with my ovaries. I had my tubes tied in september and the doc said everything looked good. She should have be able to see the ovaries, right? I'm not really sure, though. On the other hand, it seems like she should have been able to tell if I had fibroids in my uterus too. Crossing my fingers.... :?
