Nervous About Birth Control- Please Help Asap!!!!! Posted: 10-30-03 13:59pm
I have an 18 month old baby, and have beed
taking bcp's since. I'm always very
nervous about it, and am nervous having
intercourse if I take a pill even 1/2 hour
after my normal time, or if I have had a
bowel movement (sorry to be so graphic)
less than 2 hours after taking my pill.
Am I overeacting or do I have a right to
be nervous?! Please help me!

I'm not a professional but this is my
opinion.
You just had a baby and you are affraid to
have another one right away. You are
nervous subconciously that you'll get
prego again.
I'm sure this is a normal thing...

But... Posted: 10-30-03 14:59pm
But do you think my pill is working even
in these instances? I'm kind of new at
this whole thing- thanks!

Yes, of course the pill is working! Now
if you throw up then you may want to not
have sex or use another form of back up.
I never took my pill the same time
everyday and I never got prego.

Even After- Posted: 10-30-03 16:14pm
Even after a b.M.? Sorry to be so
annoying about it- i'm just so nervous,
because I read that if you have diarea,
like with vomiting, it may be ineffective.
It was just a regular b.M., but still!
Please calm me down!

Yes, you are being way too cautious! If
you take the pill, it's gone through your
system and done it's job....Bowel movement
or no bowel movement. You really
shouldn't stress. And like the other
person said...If you throw up soon after
you take it then it's probably best to
abstain from sex for the next few days but
there is no way the pill wouldn't work
just b/c of a fast metabolism...Or even
diarrhea!! Relax and as long as your
timely with your pill I wouldn't say you
have a thing to worry about!

Approx. 9 yrs ago my doctor gave me such
pills. I later had a tumor in my ovary
the size of a soccer ball weighing 7 lbs.
I had a radical hysterectomy. Before
the surgery I would loose bowel control
and I still have that problem. Now i'm
living in a shelter because jobs have been
difficult. I'm in the process of
getting to the bottom of this now.
Either mental or physical? I find that
if someone yells at me or argues near me I
instantly loose control without warning.
I have thoughts that the birth control
pills caused this tumor and problem. I
have tried different estrogens such as sow
beans or premarin. They make the
problem worse. I heard someone mention
yesterday what these pills will do to a
plant. They swell. What must this do
to women?

Birth control actually helps keep cysts
under control. They can also reduce the
risk of cancer.

This Was a Tumor Not a Cyst. Posted: 12-26-03 14:36pm
This was a tumor inside my ovary. This
was not a cyst. This was solid with no
fluid. It was also a very fast growing
tumor. Maybe this was different because
of my age, I was 45 at the time. Many
women will tell you simular stories from
taking birth control pills... This was a
very fast growing tumor. As a result I
had to have a radical hysterectomy. May
be a womens' health site would be more
effective.
