Sex With a Tampon In...
Posted: 01-31-05 13:48pm

Okay, so saturday was the second day of my period, and I put a tampon in sometime that afternoon. That night, I got drunk, and I can't remember if I took it out or not. I ended up having sex, totally forgetting about whether the tampon was in me or not. Two days later, i'm sore, but I don't know if that's from having sex two nights in a row on my period, or if maybe the tampon is still in me. Although it sounds gross, I stuck the end of a toothbrush up me, and didn't feel anything...Which makes me think that it got lodged wayy up there, or that maybe I drunkenly took it out. Wouldn't I have felt the tampon when he entered me, though? Because the sex didn't hurt at all. And I figured he would have noticed a tampon string if I did had one in, and he never said anything. I'm feeling kind of light-headed, and i'm honestly scared i'm gonna get tss. Please help! Feedback is needed!

Well, it's quite likely that you drunkenly took it out and don't remember. But, if you are concerned i'd got to the doctor. Good luck!

I would guess you removed it.
Why a toothbrush? Fingers are much better at detecting things out of place.
If you can put you finger inside and not feel the tampon then it's surely out. The vagina isn't endless and a tampon can not pass through the cervix so it can not get lost anywhere.
Always becareful of leaving tampons in as they can lead to toxic shock syndrome - tells you about it on the leaflet that comes with them in the box.
I once thought I had removed a tampon but hadn't (don't know what I was thinking?) and having been to the bathrom tried to put a new one in and I couldn't get it in. I panicked for about 10 minutes, before I fianlly worked out what I did. So, if you had sex and have used tampons since i'd be sure it's out.
Always remember to use condoms even if you are on your period as they protect against infections.

Okay, so if i've used my finger and not felt anything, there's no way it could still be up there? That's a comforting thought... I thought it could have gotten lodged up me, and that I just wouldn't be able to feel it. I guess I did drunkenly take it out, even though I really don't remember doing such a thing. Thanks, y'all, for your help.
