Natural Supplements to Lower Cholesterol
Posted: 06-02-05 22:51pm

Hello

there are many natural alternatives/supplements that can help to lower cholesterol. Some of these are reportedly more effective in lowering cholesterol than prescription medications, without the dangerous side effects

these include: guggul, policosanol, red yeast rice, pantethine etc. In addition there are at least another 30 natural supplements that can help to lower cholesterol. Hope that helps.

All the best

To anyone that reads this that has an actual cholestrol and triglyceride problem. Ignore these peoples claims!!! They are not substantiated by anything and they ae fishing in your pockets for money!

Go to your doctor and get real medicine like crestor, vytorin, lipitor that have actual proof and have been studied for years and will actually lower your bad cholesterol along with tricor 145 for hi triglycerides!

Don't buy snake oil!!!!

Wow tamadrummer...That's quite a call pointing people in that direction when there are so many dangerous side effects associated with prescription meds. These include:
• an increase in cancer risk
• elevated liver enzymes (causing liver damage)
• yellow skin / yellow eyes
• rhabdomyolysis (degenerative muscle tissue condition)
• impaired kidney function
• muscle weakness and pain
• dizziness
• gas
• headache
• heartburn or indigestion
• nausea or vomiting

these are documented side effects. You might also find the following interesting regarding crestor (the first drug mentioned in your reply post)

"...Crestor, a prescription medication to lower cholesterol, has been linked to the death of a patient who developed a suspected case of severe muscle wasting. Company spokesman steve brown said “the death may have been due to a condition known as rhabdomyolysis and the incident had been reported to regulators worldwide.” brown declined to say where the death occurred or what dose of crestor the patient had been taking"

in addition there have been numerous trials conducted on natural supplements with documented facts...I know I would much rather a natural solution over prescription meds

this is no way meant as an attack...Just stating some facts...And I know what i'd be recommending to my family if one of them had high cholesterol

regards

The problems with these regulated meds are well documented and in the case of crestor or what I take vytorin 10/20 it is very clear on the packaging that if you experience muscle pain to discontinue use and go directly to the emergency room. There are real clinical trials for these statins and the info is easy to find because it is covered in the right to know clause.

Herbs and vitamins are fine but if some has a real cholesterol or tri problem, they need to see a real doctor and get a real treatment.

Or take these herbs and end up with diabetes for high tri levels or worse death from plaque buildup because these herbs are not going to work on anyone that has a serious problem.

Cholestin is one of the ways to go for people looking for natural alternatives to control cholesterol. It has clinical studies to prove it's efficacy.

I actually have an article that explains it all. I can e-mail it to those who need it.

Yes these medical remedies cause liver damage and eventual muscle wasting. I had 1024 triglycerides when I had my heart attack, and I could not use any of these for I showed signs of the muscle wasting, my liver was laready full of fat itself also.

I finally did start to use zetia, which is usually prescribed along with lipitor or one of those type lowering drugs, but I used it alone and did get great results from it. My problem was it then developed an inflamtion in my intestines, with stomach swelling and great pains.

So I have also, used co q 10 and I have no medical evidence that it helped or didnt help---but if I could afford it I would still be on it. I just refrain from bad fats as much as possible, and use good fats when I can.

So does this cholestin. It is a replica drug not supplement and shares the exact same dangers as other statins.

Here is the link: iml.Jou.Ufl.Edu/projects/spring2000/kimpel /cholestin.Html

read and rebutt if necessary but it appears that this "harmless" supplement is actually a copy of a big scary liver damageing statin called lovastatin. If you chose to take this, you should let your doctor prescribe and monitor your blood for liver function damage and muscle wasting. Do not go to your local guru for "herbs" go to your medical doctor.

Hey everyone. I just wanted to share some good new with everyone! Last march I had it checked and I scored a 259. I just took my test again a week ago and I am 169. It us unreal ! Since I am 30 and hav a family history I wanted to figure out an all natural alternative to medication. The only thing I have done differently in the last 11 months is continued excercise 5 times a week, 2 servings of cold processed barlay grass, and 10 glasses of pi mag water daily. Water that adds alkalinity, negative ions, and mineral deposits. Love to discuss more with anyone. There is hope for everyone. Yea baby !!! Email me at [removed]

For any interested in reading about the science surrounding "pi-mag" water:

Aquatechnology.Net/piwater.Html

there is a link to some pertanant information.

If the link doesn't work, you might have to fiddle with the capital letters after periods,

this website has a grammatical problem but I think it is to stop people from spamming with bad links.

For other debunked magnet claims, look on google for nikken debunked

Dear friends,

controlling cholesterol is more than just taking medication but more of a lifestyle change. Eating healthily, avoiding saturated and trans fat, exercising, taking in more fiber etc. In fact I have written a free ebook for the common folks to help those who are clueless about lowering their cholestrol naturally without statin drugs.

Cheers! Wink

High Trigliceroids
Posted: 05-20-07 09:41am

Well I hate to tell you Tamadrummer, your advice is so not right. My father was on medication and still ended up having bipass surgery. Months later he still has high trigliceroids and the doctor took him off the medications and told him to take fish oil pills. He is now experience normal readings and I know a number of people that stopped taking the prescription drug and went natural and are reporting healthy trigliceroids.

We live in a country that will never find a cure our illnesses and will always prescribe pills because too many people would lose out financially. So, rather than giving yourself these constant man made drugs that only cause other longer term problems, we should chose to go natural first.

I am really curious about the Cholestin you just posted here...Can you explain it here how natural it is and whats its mode of action if I take one.

Thank you and God Bless.
