Why Can't I Get Pregnant? Posted: 02-01-05 17:03pm
I've been off the pill for 1 year now (was
on it for 8 years) and we are now actively
trying to get preggers...
I was told to count 14 days from the 1st
day I start my period, to ensure
ovulation. So, we are doing it every
other day during the fertile week.
Any advise? Suggestions? Tips?
Thanks!

You might want to try something like
fertilityfriend.Com or they have books
out there at the book store on tracking
when you're most fertile. I'd suggest
getting something like that, taking your
temps to find out when you're pregnant.
The books will let you know what other
signs to look for and everything too.
You can also go to a dr and they might be
able to find out if something is wrong
with you. Seeing as you've tried for so
long, it might be time to have a dr see if
they can help you. :)
good luck and I hope I helped.

Hmm?? I've heard it takes the average
couple a year of trying to get
pregnant....I suggest not "trying" to get
pregnant, and just having fun with
it.....I know that's probably really hard,
but I heard it works all the time!! Good
luck!!

I know how you are feeling. I was on the
pill for 7 years and we have been trying
for 5 months now and it is getting
frustrating. The worst thing is that my
husband said it feels like a chore because
I tell him it is my fertile time and up to
the bedroom we go.
We are keeping our spirits up. We are
moving at the end of march to a bigger
house so at least we have that to look
forward too.
I was told to have sex every other day
from the day your period ends to ensure
you catch the day you are fertile.

Try robitussin!!!! Take it for a day or
two, around ovulation if you know you're
ovulating for sure, as directed. I'm not
sure exactly how it works...Just a tip I
learned at playgroup.

Don't try so hard, relax, and don't let it
get so routine. Drink some wine, watch a
movie, snuggle, and let the good times
roll. Or burry an egg in the back yard,
and pray to goddess for a little one.

Robitussin Posted: 02-01-05 23:32pm
Robutussin, is an expectorant. Used to
loosen mucus in you sinus' it contains a
chemical called guaifenesin, which can
also loosen and thin cervical mucus.
Therefore allowing sperm to have a better
chance at reaching the egg. :d

Bobbib
firstly, I don't know you age and if
you're still young, you have the time to
just keep on trying with the temparture
method to see when your ovulating. If
your cycle is 28 days...Ovulation is about
the 14th day, if you're irregular...It's
better buying a testkit that indicates
exactly when your ovulating.
If you're nearly or over 30, go see your
gynecologist because it can takes between
3 to 4 years to get through all the tests
to find if or where the problem lies.
I've been through it all and in the end
they found that my tubes were blocked
(histerography and after coelioscopy) so
even though I ovulate correctly, hubby is
fine, sperm is active after sex (huhner
test) and all my hormone levels and
secretions, ect. Are fine, I still
couldn't fall pregnant naturally....After
all that, there's a waiting list for
assisted pregnancies and this can takes
years to be succesful. I was lucky, the
first one has worked so far but a
colleagues of mine took 3 years....
Best of luck to you and your hubby...Enjoy
trying;-)

Why Can't I Get Pregnant? Posted: 02-02-05 18:00pm
Thanks for the feedback. I am going to be
34 this week. That's why I am a little
concerned about this. When I got off the
pill last year in march, my doctor told me
not to worry for at least the 1st
year...Because I had been on the pill for
so long. I know there's probably nothing
to worry about at this point...But I can't
help it. So, I think I might pay my gyno
another visit just to satisfy my
curiosities. I'll let you all know what
happens...

I am in the same boat as you . Trying to
get pregnant. But me and my hubsand has
been trying for a few monthes. Don't
worry about it being your age. My
brother's wife was 35 years old when she
got pregnant with my newph and she thought
she couldn't get pregnant because she
never got pregnant with her first hubsand.
So don't worry about. Just relax. I
know it is hard to relax. When you are
trying to have a baby. But good luck to
you and all of us women who is trying to
get pregnant.

you are trying!!!!
