I Am 2 Days Over Due...
Posted: 02-01-05 22:24pm

This is my second child. I am 2 days over due. My next appointment is this friday and I was wondering if anyone had the experience of being "scrapped". I was thinking of asking the Dr. To do this because I have been in so much pain in my pelvic area from the pressure. I can't walk for very long and sitting isn't comfertable either. Are these good reasons to be induced? Do you think they will give me a hard time about it? I am just soo ready to have this baby!

Scrapping or stripping the membranes is when the Dr. Seperates the bag of waters from the cervix to "get things going". It is supposed to stimulate production of prostiglandins in the cervix and bring on contractions.

Unfortunatly I went to the doctors today and they wouldnt do it for me...=( she wants me to not work for the rest of my pregnancy which im not too crazy about but its dr's orders I guess.

Why would you want to work??? Stay home and relax. How old is your first child. Mine are 20 mos apart and I was sooo exhausted during my second preg. Mostly from taking care of my first baby. Anyway, they shouldn't give you a hard time about being induced. I didn't want to be induced, but with my last baby they set an induction date anyway. Hope you go soon.
