What are your arguments for or against abortion? Have you ever had a personal experience with abortion and did it change your views. (there is no need to answer in long detail about a personal experience just a simple yes/no will suffice)

these threads have gotten so out of hand that it's hard to piece anything together anymore.

My answer:
i believe that it is wrong because we all deserve the right to life no matter how big or small.
Someone very close to me has been deeply negativly affected by abortion and it has nearly destroyed him and it makes my anti-abortion opinion much stronger!

Please don't turn this into an agrument...I just want to know exactly where everyone stands and exactly why they feel the way they do!

I am personally against abortion but believe it to be a neccesary option for other people. My reasons are this when I was 18 my then girlfriend went away for a week when I saw here again she told me she had been pregnant but had had a termination because she didnt want it,this was devastating to me and I dont think women realize the effect it has on the father,it took me about 6 months to get over it.It might have been easier if she had of told me.

I am prochoice because I believe no matter what.. It is a woman's right to choose to remain pregnant or not and there are too many kids in the adoption system as it is and to top it off.. I don't know if you guys heard.. But there are now people trying to screw birth mothers out of their contact agreements.. There's even a book about it. I believe that both pregnancy and abortion has it's risks and neither one should be forced upon anyone. In the constitution.. Which protects it's .B.O.R.N citizens, it saws no law shall be made that will cause undue harm on ones' person. There is no way the fetus can have equal rights to the women because if you grant it the right to life than you are granting it a right that no other person has.. And that is the right to life that involves leeching off of someone's body or organs. I believe in quality of life over quantity but that does not mean I want to off anyone who has less than a glorious life so dont' even start in case you were thinking about it. I believe life is not black and white.. Not everyone who is this, does that.. Etc. I believe everybody percieves pregnancy differently and everyones pregnancy is different, and everyone's life is setup different and not all the time does pregnancy fit into their life and I know you think it's selfish to put a career over pregnancy but we don't so why should we do something that we believe could put us in a tight spot for morals that don't belong to us? You wouldn't do it so we won't either.

That's all I can think of for now.

Im pro-choice. That means im not going to sit around and try to dictate what people do with their own bodies.

Yes i've had a personal experience with abortion, and if it hadn't been for the rights to choose that, i'd not be here.

Yes, everyone has a right to life, and the woman was born way before this baby started growing in her stomach. If shes not ready for a baby, why try and make her be? Why would I want a child to be born to parents that don't want it. That childs not going to have a very happy life.

Anyways, it should be the womans choice, period, no one else should butt their little noses in it and tell woman what they think is right and wrong. I could careless what someone thinks is wrong, if its right for me, they're opinion isn't going to mean a thing.

Women are the ones who know what goes on in their lives. They are the ones who knows what life situations they can handle or not handle. Nobody are more of an expert in their lives than they are, and thus they are the ones best situated to make personal decisions about their current and future lives. This is true for abortions, for relationships, for careers and everything.

Likewise, people are the owners of their own bodies, and nobody or no thing can use their bodies against their will. Thus, neither you, nor the pregnant woman can be forced to give of your body unless you chose to do so voluntarily, regardless of how much it would mean to whomever or whatever receives your bodily resources. This is a very basic human right, regardless of the status of the person, embryo or tapeworm receiving your bodily resources against your will. If you say no, they die regardless of how much they need your bodily resource, or regardless of how important or innocent they are. This is the case for everybody, and only ardent misogyny and hypocricy can say that women are second-class citizens who do not hold such rights when thos arguing for taking their rights also insist on preserving their own right to bodily integrity.

And in addition, people have the right to live their private lives without the government regulating the smallest and most private details of it. Attempting to regulate a person's private healthcare decisions is gross government intrusion in best eastern communist style.
