Update On Preg. After Partial Hysterectomy
Posted: 02-02-05 09:28am

I had a partial hysterectomy 6 years ago, for the past few weeks i've had breast tenderness, breast leakage, weight gain, swelling, and my body feels like I did when I was preg. With my daughter 10 yrs. Ago. I went to my ob/gyn yesterday that had done my partial. He said it was definately milk coming from my breast. He had blood drawn for preg. Test, thyroid test, and some kind of test that tells about the milk production. I won't get results back until next thurs. Then he is scheduling me a ultrasound. He said if nothing is found by ultrasound, I would have to have laproscopic surgery for him to find it. I never thought this was even possible. I wish if I am preg. That I could carry the baby. I always wanted 2 kids, but after my daughter was born, I miscarried twins and then miscarried again due to endometriosis, and had to have my partial. I would love to have another baby, but I know it will be a tubal or ovarian preg. And there's no possible way of carrying it.  has anyone else ever been thru this and if so how did it turn out???

Lulabelle,

i'm assuming that you had a partial hysterectomy. If so, were any of your ovaries removed along with yoru uterus?

I've often wondered about this. I had a partial three years ago and have thought about the possibilities of getting pregnant.

Hi,

i had my uterus and left ovary removed, I still have my right ovary. I never even imagined the possiblity. Never knew it could happen until I started reading.... And feeling all the symptoms. My Dr. Was just as puzzled as I was. I get my results this coming thurs. This has been the longest week, just not knowing! When I shower the milk really comes down, just like it was when I was preg. The other day when I was at work, my bra was wet from the milk. I just can't understand it!! I will keep you posted on what I find out thurs. From the Dr.

Pregnancy Or Something Else After Hysterectomy

This is my first time here and I find it really funny to read about this because jan 5th marked my 1 year anniversary from my surgery,( I was 32) they removed one ovary and both tubes, uterus, cervic......... I have been feeling the same way.. I still was producing milk before my surgery, my youngest is now 4 and lately I have been feeling out of sorts. Always tired, always going to the washroom. Have what feels like a lump in my stomach below my bellybutton and have thought that I was completely nuts..... Until now, could it be that this is something normal that the dr did not tell us about.. I thought for a while that I was feeling all of this because a very close friend of mine is going through a hard time with her pregnancy. She has just found out at 8 weeks that she is losing this one as well( this is her 3rd in 2 years) anyways I am not sure what to think at this point I am about ready to go out and get a test if I still feel this way in the morning.. All of this is so much like when I was pregnant the last 3 times.... Is there anyone out there that might have and ideal of what else could be causing these symptoms.......

Hormones!!
Many things influence your hormones, if you had one or both ovaries removed, if you are approaching meonpause or are perimenopausal.
Hrt - all these can affect your hormones and cause milk production.
