Hello,
I am being treated for moderate acne.
I just have a few questions. I have
been taking 500mg amoxicillin twice a day
for the past 2 months. Approximately 2
weeks ago, I started using 20% tea tree
oil/80% grain alcohol. For the first
time in years, my skin is starting to look
better.
Just yesterday, I went to the
dermatologist, who prescibed another 3
months of the same antibiotic regime, and
3 months of using tretinoin .025%. I
only use the tretinoin cream twice a week.
My question is this:
1. Because of the low frequency of use of
the tretinoin cream, could I use tea tree
oil on the days that I don't use
tretinoin?
2. Will I notice any reactions or
worsening of my condition with the above
combination?
3. Will both of these products work
better together then by themselves? Or
will they work worse together?
Any input is welcomed!
Thanks,
brad

Those are all really good questions for
your dermatologist...
A rule is that unless he/she tells you to
do it don't do it. If he/she did not
prescribe that combination then dont do
it...
In any case just ask the dermatologist.

Brad
i would follow your dermatologists
advice.
I would not combine the two treatments as
over and/or combination treating your skin
may well make your acne worse.
Keep your skin clean with a mild
anti-baterial soap, gently pat your skin
dry rather than rubbing it and try and
avoid excessive sweating.
