Im home :)

baby jay born 02.02.05 at 01:24am. Weighing 5 pounds 12 ounces.
4 weeks early, 1 week premature. Slightly jaundice.
She was born 22 hours after my waters broke.

I dont know when my contractions started, because what I thought were my contractions, the doctors said wernt, so I thought thwy were just cramps instead. But they turned out to be my contractions.

I went back into hosiptal at 8pm on tuesday, with contractions, not regular, coming 5 mins then 12 mins then 2 mins etc apart, so the doctors didnt know I was in labour. And being my first, I didnt know what to expect with labour.
And they didnt check to see how dialated I was.

I had about 6 really really really painful contractions, before I threw the belt things off from round my stomach and waddled to the toilet thinking I was gonna poop myself. Turns out that jay was coming down the birth canal.
I nearly delivered her myself in the toilet.
The doctors came running in after I rang the call buzzer, and she was crowning. So they asked me if I could walk too the labour ward...
I was like eh?? I have the top of a babys head sticking outta me, and u want me to walk???
So they wheeled my bed in, and took me to labour ward.

By the time I got too labour ward, my contractions had pushed most her head out. I was asked to push once, and pushed her head out, they told me not to push, just as I was having another contraction, and the contraction pushed her the rest of the way out.

I was in active labour for no more than 3 hours, or at least thats what im thinking, because my contractions wernt really painful until the last hour.
And the doctors cant tell me, because they kept telling me I wasent in labour, and they never checked too see if I had dialated at all.

I had no pain relief in labour, since I didnt know I was in labour. But I had the gas when they gave me my one stitch.

I will post pictures of me and jay when garry sends them from his comp to mine, coz I not got a free usb port to d/l them onto my comp.

Sorry my story is a lil confusing, but u can imagine how confused I was, being told I wasnt in labour, then giving birth.

Aww, i'm sorry it was so confusing. They shouldn't have let you go to the bathroom. I don't understand why they weren't paying more attention to what was going on with you and jay. I could have helped you much more than those docs. Lol. Well, congratulations max!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How is the baby? How are you doing now? Ttys.

Oh thank you :)

yeh, im quite upset with what happened, because I dont know how long I was in labour, so I dont know how fast the next one ( when I get preg again) is going to pop out.

Jay is doing really well, I had been breast feeding her, but now my boobs are waaaaayyyyyy to big, and she cant latch on propally (my boobs like twice the size of her head) so im expressing the milk and feeding her it that way.

Im having a home birth next time, if there is no complications of course.
I decided it will be better, because then I will be one 2 one with the midwife, and will be able to know exactly whats going on when I ask.

She is the most beautiful baby ever.. But then I guess all mothers think that about their babys :)
i should have pictures up later tonight, or if not, tomorrow.

oh, I know how you feel! My water broke at 8:30pm, I had my first contraction at 8:50, I was at the hospital a little after 10:00pm, and I had her at 10:50pm. I had the same little thing with the toilet thing happen, then they brought me to my bed and checked to see how far I was dialated (this was 15 minutes after I got there) I was 10cm and ready to go! The nurse went screaming out because the doctor wasn't even there. She came, and so did kylie. It was an awesome birth though.
