Contraceptive Pill
Posted: 02-05-05 06:18am

When I started the pill again I started an old pack that wasn't out of date. Then I went through a time when I didn't have a seven day break. Now I can't remember how many pills were in the old pack when I started. I thought there were seven pills left in the pack so I started a seven day break, leaving seven pills in the pack. Shall I just continue to have my seven day break and will I be protected? :?

Sorry, I don't really understand what happened. You need to take the pills exactly how the directions read. I just switched pills. I had been taking one kind for the past 9 mos. Then, the days overlapped with the new pills so I had to wait until sun to start the new ones. And now i'm basically starting all over, I have to use a backup method for a month until these new pills are fully in my system.

Don't start pills from an old pack, if you don't finish them throw them away. If i'm understanding you, I would say you're not protected. You need to start fresh and use a backup method for a month. Unless you started the pack you're on now from the beginning, then use a backup method until your finished this pack.

You should only start full packs, and on the correct cycle are you saying you started liek a half pack?
