What are the symptoms of herpes?

From two to twenty days after exposure to the virus, one begins to see the first signs of infection. The first signals which indicate that one may have herpes include burning and itching of the genitals. This is quickly followed by the emergence of blisters. The blisters begin as a group of tiny, red, painful spots which will develop into yellowish blisters which burst. What remains is a collection of ulcers which are painful to touch but will heal in about 10 days. While the blisters are active, it is common to suffer from a fever, loss of appetite and/or swelling in the genital area.

Herpes symptoms and women

women's experience with herpes is distinctly different from that of men. Due to the different genital structures, women have a larger area (the vulva) which may become infected. Consequently, women may experience more pain than men when urinating. Furthermore, the virus can often be carried into the vagina to infect the cervix. If this occurs, your physician may ask you to have a pap test done. This is done to protect you because the incidence of cervical cancer is higher in the presence of herpes. Pregnant women should inform their physician immediately.

You dont have a friend who can take you to a free clinic or anything? I really reccommend that you get it checked out

i mean it could be something serious or maybe something not so serious...

Like okay heres a story when I was a junior in highschool a friend of mine had been acting really weird and like just kept telling me it was cramping from new bc finally she confided in me and told me she thought she had an std like she said she cried every night because she was in so much pain and like "down there" was in baddd shape we did all this research on it and like came up with a few stds that it could have been so my bf took her and I to a clinic and they told her she had herpes... They perscribed her some medication and gave her a bunch of info on it... She was devasted...Well like 2 weeks into taking it her dad found the medication and confronted her (i was there) and I tried to tell him it was mine to cover her from the humilation... But he wasnt having it... So we ended up telling him the truth... He took her to the docs and it turns out she just had a bad yeast infection that went sour...

So please check it out it could be the beginging of something bad or preventable from soemthign simple

They are very painful bing 9 months pregnant not much they could do for me except put me on pain meds which were mild and I took them every 4 hrs around the clock and laid and bed and cried its seriouly probably the worst std out there since there is no cure from it and what makes it worse is I have been with one person we have been together for 7 yrs now i've had this 4 yrs and only had 4 outbreaks and the last three were during this pregnancy I just ended one like a week and a half ago and another one came on yesterday. He has never in his life had one! So he has no idea what kind of pain I am in!!!! Damn men anyways 99.9% of men will just be carriers and never have an outbreak.

I would also look into what type of condoms you used if any because you could be alergic to the type of condoms

:( I have been sexually active 1nce and I used protection, am only 14, and now its been 2 months going to b 3 and I have these weird bumps and their medium size but kind of big and there located in the sexual intercorse hole they dont hurt or anything. I told my mom about it just now but am scared when she takes me to the doctor they're going to tell her I have an std, and she would kno that I was sexually active and she would freakkkk out on me what should I do..Is it possible for me to go to a clinic by myself and god forbid I have something have to get medication or w.E I could get it for free??? Am going to go get check but am scared it might be hpv (because I researched on it and I have similiar symptons but it doesnt look as bad as the pictures)should I be worried or could this be anything else???? :?: :?: :?: :?: :!: :!: :!: :!:

unfortuanately, if it is hpv.. There is no medicine for it. It cannot be cured or treated and cannot be prevented with condoms. I think if warts were on the "outside", you could have them removed with each outbreak. I don't know what all your symptoms are, but there are other things out there than can cause bumps. Not herpes, but there's a thing called molluscum contagiosum that can be confused with hpv. It's a virus, but usually goes away and is not always sexually transmitted.

You could go to a clinic by yourself to get tested without your mom having to be there. You'll need someone to take you though. Most clinics are free when it comes to std testing.. Good luck.

Sounds Like Herpes
If you have aplanned parenthood in your area I would call them asap, they will do a culture and test to see if that is what they are....

If it is herpes, and you need someone to talk to feel free to pm me and I would be happy to talk with you about it. I have had genital herpes for 5 years, and I thought it was the end of the world at first, but I am doing great now.

Get tested asap!!

Oh sweetie you are so young! The best advice I can give to you is to go get it checked!!! It's not a good idea to let the infection stay there, you need to get checked!! You should also talk to your mom! I don't know if you have a good relationship with your mom, but if you do talk to her! I pray that everything comes out ok!!
