I've been expeiencing pain int he centre of my tummy below my ribs its a heavy ache most of the time and can last for more than a week at a time I have just started getting sharp stabbing pains also .

I also get pain under my ribs on right side around my side and into my back up into my shoulder blade also pain right around the middle.

I also get terrible wind bloating burps and pain in my stomach which I am putting down to indigestion.

I had an ultrasound the other day which came up clear

can a scan be wrong??

Or was my sonographer just incompetent

can anyone give me any feed back cos I am going out of my mind

Stomach Pains Left Side...problem Solved!!
Posted: 07-21-05 16:50pm

Ok...I had alllll those same symptoms and my doctor did all those same tests...Blah blah blah....Start taking an acid reducer before every meal. I know...I know...I said the same thing...Acid is not the problem...But guess what...It solved it! I take it before every meal and before bed time. I just got the generic brand that you can get at the dollar store (it had the same stuff as the name brand and was five dollars less), and it worked like a charm. I wish you much luck! Let me know if it works for you. Mine stopped hurting the 2nd day. Let me know!!

Gallbladder is upper right side...Pain is mostly under the ribs on right side.

I have been having the same pain and a bubbly like feeling on my left side. Has your son had any surgery? I had a c-section and some doctors tell me one thing and others say it is scar tissue.

Hope you find something..I hate to hear about a child being in pain

Appendix

Sorry but the last post stating appendix pain is always on the lower right side is incorrect. Appendix pain often begins as a gripping pain just below the belly button that comes and goes in waves this can last days then the pain may or may not move to the right side depending on how inflamed it is and wether or not it is rupturing. In my case I never had lower right side pain but I did have an appendectomy due to acute appendicitis.

hi, I get the exact same feeling, its very painfull and related to stress and constipation. Spastic colon. Its not dangerous, but can cause more problems if not given any attention. Its not something you would pick up in the blood.

Good luck

i have been experiencing bad pain in my upper right hand side, I have had it for 2 days now. I went to the dr and he said it was a pulled muscle which I dont believe because now I am experiencing sharp pains near my bellybutton can anyone help me? :x :x :x

that sounsd like gallbladder to me. That is exaclty how I felt- first it was sharp pains in the upper right side, sometimes bringing me to my knees then it moved to the front like my bellybutton was going to explode, after 3 er visits they found I needed my gallbladder out.

Wow that sounds horrible I have been with fever and felling nausause for about 2-3 days and I have a pinchin pain on my upper right stomach and have been on tylenol (500 mg)(fever) also when I breathe in too hard my right side of my stomach hurts....Any idea what it could be??

To the lady with her son having left sided pain, has anyone looked in to pancreatitis? It can give a twisting senstion as can kidney stones and even appendicitis. I am sure they checked all of this out but I would request an ultrasound. Appendicitis is not able to be seen from most ultrasounds but pancreatitis can be discovered from a detailed blood exam.

You people with gut pain "may possibly" be experiencing intestinal cramping. If doctors have thoroughly examined the patients and cannot find any cause I would say that intestinal cramps may be a likely problem. I have suffered from this, it is very painful and can feel like your being stabbed with a spear and like the desciption says its your intestinal muscle wall cramping, (just like you would normally get a leg cramp).

The most common cause of this condition is a diet too high in fat, to avoid these painful cramps simply eat well plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables(fast food and alcohol must be completely eliminated at least for a few weeks) combined with mild excercise and you will find you will eliminate this painful condition in no time. Some people are more prone to this condition than others so you will really need to take care of yourself and avoid unhealthy fatty foods to prevent a relapse.

Either way if your doctor is ever unable to come up with a diagnosis to an ailment or does not give you a reasonable answer to a complaint I suggest you see another doctor.
