I was diagnosed with trichonomosis, or
however you spell it. So when I was at
the clinic, they treated me with flagyl.
Well I told my b/f , who is the one that
gave it to me. And he also was treated, I
guess the doctor's said to wait 1 week
before having any sexual relations. Which
we almost did, we were using protection a
few days after being treated, and then we
had 1 unprotected act of sex like 4 days
after being treated, we also had
unprotected sex again about 1 week ago. I
have not had any sex since those times,
and have not experienced any sypmtoms.
Except for today it burned alittle when I
urinated. I'm scared that I may have it
again, and real embarrassed but since we
were treated i'm confused. Also another
question I have is does it take a longer
period of time for guy's to get over
trich, I know this sounds gross but maybe
the virus stays in their balls or
something. But he took his medication and
i'm hoping I do not have it again, could
i?

First, were you given a 7 day treatment of
flagyl or 2g single dose? If 2g single
dose, I would suspect 4 days is long
enough however, the recommendation is 7
days. Also, how do you know he gave it
to you? Has he picked it up again from
where ever he originally got it?
One more question if I could. I have
been battling with something that has
similar symptoms to trich. Did your
boyfriend know he had it? Did they test
him for it or just assume he had it since
you did?

She probably knows he gave it to her,
because she didn't have it before she was
with him. Just my opinion though.
If you didn't wait the full seven days
there is a chance that you got it again.
Probably not, but they wouldn't tell you
not to have sex until you are both done
with treatment if it didn't matter, ya
know?

I agree, I think you probably got it again
if you're having the same symptoms. As
lame as it may sound, it's important to
follow your doctors orders, especially
when you're being treated for something
like trich.
Unless you like playing a game of catch
back and forth with your partner, which
i'm hoping you don't like doing.
I say if you keep feeling gross and
showing symptoms, you're going to have to
go back again and get tested... Again.
Then start the whole medication process
over...
And...
Maybe wait the period of time that the
doctor suggests.
Or at least (and I say this very strongly)
wear condoms until you're sure it's
cleared up for both of you.
I bet you would of been fine if you hadn't
jumped right back into unprotected sex.
