How Can I Gain More Energy? Posted: 02-13-05 21:28pm
I've been working out for about 3 months
now, and i've seen a little results, but
not much. I know the big reason for this
is missing workout days because i'm too
tired so often. I try to push myself, but
it's like i'm struggling to stay awake
while i'm doing my pushups or whatever.
Is there some way I can get more
energetic, maybe something I could take?

Lots of ways to gain more energy. Food
is your first energy source (glucose)..
So any simple sugars will provide you with
an almost immediate energy boost.
Caffeine pills / coffee will do the trick.
Supplements such as ginseng will do it
as well.
Make sure you're fully rested. Whenever
your body wakes up on its own, get out of
bed.. Don't crawl back in bed and force
yourself to sleep longer. Don't use an
alarm either.. Make sure your body is
fully rested. Before your workout do
some warmup exercises and breathe
properly. Going outside to get some
fresh oxygen helps a lot too.

I find that pre and post workout food
really helps too.
For pre-workout, maybe 45-60 minutes
before you workout:
- small banana or some other fruit,
granola bar, something with some carbs to
give you a little energy to work with.
For post-workout, within 60 minues after a
workout:
- 1 serving low fat yogourt, some fruit
with cheese, 1/2 cup brown rice with some
fish, 1 slice of bread with tuna
- should be something with carbs to help
replenish your energy right away + some
protein that will last a bit longer
the amounts that I have listed work for
me. You may need to adjust to fit you.
It also depends on your goals as well. If
you are trying to put on weight, you might
want to eat pre and post workout food in
addition to your normal diet. If you are
trying to lose weight, you might want to
take the pre and post food amounts from
your existing diet so that you eat the
same amount, just at different times and
spread out.
Peace out...Side

Check out your iron levels, too. You may
be anemic (do you have nosebleeds often or
do you eat very little meat?) iron-poor
blood makes people very tired easily.
Maybe go to a doctor & get a blood
test just to rule it out.

You may also want to get your blood
tested, because one symptom of anemia is
tiredness. Maybe you need some iron in
your blood. Check it out at a doctor's
office.

Weight Loss Pills For Energy? Posted: 07-17-07 11:20am
Have there been any studies done as to
whether using natural weight loss pills to
increase energy is bad for you? I was on a
diet, got a product lost the weight and
got a serious boost as well. I work out
three times a week and am close (enough
anyway) to my target weight - but I still
take the pills sometimes - I take half the
dose they recommend for weight loss. I
think the active ingredient is guarana -
lots of others though, but they're all
natural herbs and stuff. Not ephedra
(heart attack!). Good, bad, does anyone
know?
