I Can Fight Both Sides.....what Does This Make Me?

Ok, I can fight both sides....I could
quite pasionatly get into a debate that
abortion is wrong and a baby is a
baby........But then I could also fight
that women who have unplanned pregnancies
should have the right to choose,
especially if rape or insest is
involved......But then again there are so
many methods of contraception available
why do woment have unplanned pregnancies
(apart from the abvious condom breaking,
rape etc)
i wouldnt consider myself pro-choice or
pro-life so what does that make me? Just
wondered.

It depends how much you value the unborn
childs life
equal to that of the mother or less than
human.

but in the case of incest if you terminate
you are therefore destroying evidence and
leaving the woman in a situation of
continuse abuse.

If you acknowledge as you do that abortion
is wrong because the fetal child is just
that a child or as you put it
"abortion is wrong and a baby is a baby"
then....
What can justify killing a child let alone
ones own child?

they are worse

i have always wondered
about that position. Essentially, it is
that the mebryo or fetus are persons and
therefore shouldn't be aborted, except if
it was a rape/incest situation, where
suddenly, that the fetus is "a human
being" doesn't matter any more.
What is the justification for that
dichotemy?

I actually, whole heartedly agree with
steen, its rather nonsensical to say a
person is not a person because he or she
was concieved of via rape or insest or
because they have developed some
disability (nicely put as medical reasons
btw)
we wouldnt say to a born human being.
"your a result of rape I am going to have
to terminate you"
"your a product of incest, you have no
right to live"
"your disabled, I have every right to kill
you since I look after you"
if the premise is that the unborn fetus is
a human being and as such a human person,
then he/she holds as much intrinsic value
as a person outside the womb.
The whole pro life except for.... Is a
hypocritical stand point at best that is
sending out a mixed message and at worst
is sheer condoning of murd....
Either unborn are people and worth the
same as born people or they are not
if they are not then, abortion is not
wrong in any circumstance even as a form
of birth control or as one weird person
said for fun
but if they are persons it is wrong in
every circumstance except life threatening
issues.

first off I never said I was pro-life,
ya'll assumed! Me myself and I would
never get an abortion now. I am a grown
woman who makes my own decisions. I did
make an appointment to get an aborition
when I was 19 and preggers because I had
done a lot of hard drugs before knowing I
was pregnant, but I guess someone was
watching out for me cause I miscarried the
day before the appointment. Also my best
friend has had 2 and I still luv her.
Like i've said before I am against
repeated abortions for "selfish reasons".

because. I've posted my reasons before
and am not gonna repost everything.
Right now I am 22weeks preggers and would
never abort or had any thoughts of
aborting my soon to be son.

So you get to determine for others what a
"selfish" reason is? How do you do that?
It is selfish if you subjectively feel
it is?

I wish the word selfish would be wiped of
the english language. For some reason..
That word irks me the most.. You can call
me anything you want but it bugs me when
people call me selfish.

that's why I "" it. I am against women
who have unprotected sex over and over
again and keep getting knocked up and
going and aborting. Is that better
guys???

"selfish," like insisting on having your
own child instead of adopting one that
needs a family instead of a fosterhome.
Oh, yup, clearly.

i agree with you lilblaze but I want to
understand why you (not me) believe (not
feel, believe) it is wrong to have
unprotected sex over and over and getting
a number of abortions... What makes that
wrong why is it selfish?

I completely forgot I started this thread!
of course its selfish to have unprotected
sex over and over again only to have an
abortion is a baby is created....Thats
wicked.
And while I can see you point in looking
at insest and rape from the babies
view....I could also see it from the
mothers view....I think you are forgetting
'mum'!
I mean imagine this....Your daddy is
important to you, he's the man you look up
to....But what if...Horrible as it is to
say....He raped you, not only would the
fact that he raped you completely screw
your head up, but what if you actually
fell pregnant from him? Could you go
through nine months of carrying the baby?!
I know I couldnt....... But seriously
guys...Cum'on...Think about it....Could
you honestly do that?
I do believe that 'accidents' happen, but
I dont believe they happen as often as
statistics say they do. Its so easy now
what with all the contraceptive methods
available not to get pregnant. But I
would probably say (with some confidence!)
that a majority of abortions that take
place now are because people have been
careless.
